Contrary to popular belief around here he has a better chance of getting Cotto in the ring in a cash out fight than Canelo who has already said he will fight GGG in the future when he moves up to GGG'S division. He said this while in negotiations with Cotto to fight for Cotto's belt which is a MW title. If he really intended to fight GGG anytime soon he could have said simply let me snatch that belt from Cotto and then we can talk to GGG about his position as the mandatory to said belt. Now however half assed Cotto may have said it he did say if GGG is available after Canelo then I will fight him.

Amazing how Canelo gets a pass with some of these posters...

Canelo is still trying to become the undisputed 155 champ

Ward, like Carl Froch/James Degale/George Groves/etc, is a "day-of super middleweight", in that he never goes up all that much in weight, and can basically work his way down to 168 in the gym (with no need for saunas or plastics).

Why is Golovkin so spooked of stepping in with guys his size? Because it seems like Gennady Golovkin is the only 165-pound amateur fighter who has decided to go down in weight and apparently fight his full career at 160.
If Ward moved down to 160 it would become the best division in boxing overnight.

Middleweight is very good division. Cotto, Lemiuex, Quillin, Lee, GGG, NDam, and Canelo are a better bunch of figters than the Supermiddle weight division.

I mean Arthur Abhram is currently ranked one in the division and the guy has only beaten on top ten fighter there.

          Ok?

Arturo Gatti was in the 160's on fight night.

None of which weighed in at 160 for a decade like Golovkin has.

I'm starting to think that GGG fans desperately want Cotto and Canelo to "duck" this guy; because I think they know deep down that once he fights someone who isn't washed up or a can, than he's going to get beat down and sent back to Kazakhstan.

I think that it's been noted that if Floyd beats GGG, he would be top five ATG; so what does that make Canelo and Cotto once they beat the brakes off of him.

Because you know...once he "starts" letting Canelo or Cotto hit him, you know to make the fans happy ala Monroe, it's lights out.

GGG is perfect for MW, i think he would be small if he moves up, i was kind of surprised Murry looked bigger then him. If he goes up to challenge himself to be great and fight Ward he can, but if he doesn't does that mean hes not a great fighter or a hype job? no.

Fact is (with the acception of larold x) all Floyd fan boys and GGG haters want to see him move up and fight Ward because most likely he is going to get schooled and then they can call him a bum. Plain and simple.
GGG wants the big money against Cotto or Canelo and he will move up after I guarantee it! He wants to be a PPV star and he can't do that fighting Ward or Froch. Floyd and manny both needed Oscar to elevate them to PPV stars. GGG just wants the same thing I don't see anything wrong with it.

Idiotic moronic post. Let hate out bro. Neither Canelo nor Cotto stand much of a chance against GGG . Cotto is way too shop worn. Had he not taken those beating by manny and margs then I would give him a good shot but first big shot GGG lands and he will because cottos there to be hit Cotto goes down but we all saw Cotto straight out duck GGG in his last fight and cool don't fight hil but let the strap go and quit holding it hostage

If he goes to 168 now, My advice for GGG would be to fire his managers, it would be extremely foolish after all this work at 160.

Makes zero sense. With a shot like that being around the corner.

If you don't see it, you're simply a hater bruh.
Cotto's not going to fight him and Oscar De La Hoya (Canelo's co-promoter for now) has already said that such a fight is easily two years away, with Canelo's own manager/co-trainer talking of Canelo still being a junior middleweight.

Golovkin is going to hope for a sizable step aside fee, fight a can this fall, sit and watch Cotto-Canelo in November (hopefully they include some ringside seats in the step-aside fee), and then fight for the vacant WBC middleweight title early 2016 (Floyd is likely to be retired by the end of the year, with his WBC and WBC 154 belts vacated in the Fall; Canelo can fight for the WBC's full 154 title, and Cotto is a big enough standalone name that he can make a quality take in a vacant wba title fight, as Lara would be elevated to full WBA champion).

You add that Lemieux can do big business in Montreal fighting bums, and most of the other solid guys are with Haymon, and where are all of these money fights for Golovkin?
