He is a natural middleweight in his 30s. You don't grow bigger in your 30s but you might get fatter if you eat too much. There is no reason for him to move up or down.

And by the way i said this long time ago, GGG doesnt necessarily needs to go up in weight to get better fights, he can also go down, plenty of skilled people at 154 compared to 160... if ggg goes down to 154 and the likes of canelo, lara, andrade, floyd, etc dont fight him then i will call that a duck... ggg shouldnt have a problem going to 154 after all they all(except floyd) weight the same on fight night...
but i get it ggg wants to unify before moving to a different division, nothing wrong with that but imo he wont get better fights doing it...
Fighters re hydrate after they weigh in.
Weighing in at 160 and re hydrating above 160 is a real thing because it's what actually happens.
Fight night weight IS a real thing because it exists lol
How is it not in effect when every fighter weighs more on fight night than what they weighed the day before at the weigh in?
If Canelo and Cotto both agree to weigh in at 157lbs do you really think that both of them are going to weigh 157lbs the next day when they fight each other? lol
What the hell is going on here?

Ward, like Carl Froch/James Degale/George Groves/etc, is a "day-of super middleweight", in that he never goes up all that much in weight, and can basically work his way down to 168 in the gym (with no need for saunas or plastics).
Why is Golovkin so spooked of stepping in with guys his size? Because it seems like Gennady Golovkin is the only 165-pound amateur fighter who has decided to go down in weight and apparently fight his full career at 160.

Is it possible to just see Golovkin clean out MW and then move up? The reason i think it's time for ward to move up is because he has done just thta, cleaned out SMW. Time for him to test the waters at 175. Give GGG 24-36 months and he should have achieved the same at MW. At that point he should be thinking of doing the same thing.

IMO I think he should fight at the weight he is most comfortable at. And right now it seems to be MW. He should absolutely try to clean out the division before moving up but he needs to realize that means he has to wait till Cotto/Canelo is settled. Contrary to popular belief around here he has a better chance of getting Cotto in the ring in a cash out fight than Canelo who has already said he will fight GGG in the future when he moves up to GGG'S division. He said this while in negotiations with Cotto to fight for Cotto's belt which is a MW title. If he really intended to fight GGG anytime soon he could have said simply let me snatch that belt from Cotto and then we can talk to GGG about his position as the mandatory to said belt. Now however half assed Cotto may have said it he did say if GGG is available after Canelo then I will fight him.

Wants to fight the lineal champ in his own division but is supposedly "picking on a ww lol" when Cotto is going to fight a weight drainer who is the same size as GGG on fight night. No one has a problem with that though lol
Canelo is a guy GGGs size. Whats wrong with GGG fighting him?
