GGG would accept any agreement with Cotto or Canelo. He doesn't care because after he won either one of those matches he would be the one calling all the shots. I believe Canelo wants to fight GGG but that Oscar won't let him because he doesn't want to lose his cash cow.

You're right he didn't say that, but his promoter did.

Exactly. Ward is doing the talking but when it came right down to it, Ward ducked out. Ward hasn't earned the right to fight GGG. Smith is a bum and he hit Ward in the sixth with a shot that made Ward's legs buckle. GGG would have finished him off right there but probably before that.

I wouldn't go so far as to say that Ward is ducking GGG. He wasn't able to fight at that time. But Golovkin isn't ducking him, that's for sure.

From the rest of that statement by GGG, it's clear that, even if Ward had answered "Yes" to the question "Are you ready to fight" it still wouldn't have happened yet. Because after discussing it HBO decided - guess what - it didn't make sense financially.

I'm not sure a 168 pound fighter ever earns the right to fight a 160 pound fighter. Both would be the A side because neither pulls huge money compared to other superstars.

Since he knows Golovkin will destroy his career (although it would just be another loss).

GGG is the most talked about fighter in boxing right now, other than Mayweather. The excuse that he does not bring enough money is no longer viable. Lemieux should take his shot at GGG while he can. GGG will soon be off to bigger and better things.

I didn't realize Lemieux would have to move up an entire division to fight Golovkin

Nobody will fight GGG if the money isn't MILLIONS. Nobody except the first 33 opponents he fought.

This is why he's the second most feared fighter in the sport, nobody wants to fight him.

This is what Team GGG is going to have to do.

Big money will be needed for any of the big fights.

It would certainly draw well, along with the hammer jab, thunderous shots to the body as Lemieux backs up will certainly take a lot of mustard off his wild shots. I expect about 6-7 rds with a Golovkin win probably TKO. But what is fun is Lemieux always has that big shot chance..
