Comments Thread For: Froch's Promoter: Let's See HBO's Offer For Golovkin

Over the last few days, the hype has exploded for a potential showdown between super middleweight former champion Carl Froch and IBO/WBA middleweight champion Gennady "GGG" Golovkin, who would move up in weight to take the fight - and travel over to the UK to give Froch home advantage.

Froch is still on the fence regarding his future. He's been in active since last May's knockout victory over George Groves before a massive crowd of 80,000 fans at Wembley Stadium.

Even his promoter, Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Sport, has no idea if his boxer will ever lace up the boots again.

Seems like theyre trying to blame it on HBO preemptively. Its a stadium fight in the UK, early afternoon in the US. Whatever HBO pitches in is a drop in the bucket

Dunno how much they put up.
They blew a a lot of money with their April through June lineup.

Yes, make the fight; this ought to straighten out just what is what concerning Froch - especially if he turns down a fight in Nottingham or takes the fight in Nottingham and is still knocked out by GGG (Remember, not too long ago Andre Ward made it clear that he'd fight Froch in the United Kingdom but not in Nottingham). Say, if Froch refuses this fight then won't that pretty much be the same thing he accuses Calzaghe of having done?

How? All they had was mismatches. Name one fight where the winner wasn't predetermined.

Seems like they're saying what they've been saying all along actually.
