I think Hopkin's views on it are the best.

He basically says we don't have to agree with it, but if Floyd believes that then no one's going to convince him otherwise. He obviously didn't think this just now, he's thought it for a long time, and if that's what's gotten him to 48-0 then who am I to stand in the way"

Something along those lines, lol he went onto say he believes he's (Hopkins) is better looking than Denzil Washington hahahaha

It didn***8217;t happen in the first half of the last decade after Mosley surpassed Mayweather***8217;s marketability with two wins over De La Hoya, nor in the second half of that decade when Mosley stood in this same ring after beating Vargas in 2006 and said he needed a vacation. Shane wanted no part of Floyd cuz FLoyd was a high risk low reward type of fight.

Kostya Tszyu was called out on numerous occasions and I'm yet to see any of his interviews where he even mentions a possible fight against Floyd, same with Joel Casamayor and Freitas, Hell he even called out Prince Naseem and he was willing to go down to 128 to fight him and Prince Naseem didn't even mention him. Floyd called out Dela Hoya for like 5 years and he moved up all these weight classes to get that fight and he agreed to all the terms to fight him, yeah Oscar wasn't in his prime but Floyd was coming up in weight and couldn't even make 150, he was outweighed by 15 lbs on fight night, made only 20 out of 150 million and was forced to wear 10 oz. gloves with extra padding.

Margarito was porbably cheating around 2006-2007 where a potential fight was suggested but Margarito was with Arum and Arum had a lot of problems with Floyd at the time, the fight was expected to generate 50+ mio and Arum offered Floyd a lame 8 million, so Floyd bought out his contract and became his own man but couldn't fight Margarito cuz Margarito stayed with Arum, had Margarito done the same the fight would've been made and he would've walked away with 20 million, but instead he stayed with Arum. Cotto was also protected by Arum and Arum himslef admitted that he didn't want Cotto to fight Floyd cuz he was too green.

Pacquiao, don't get me started on that, but I'm gonna tell you this, this is the first time I see someone get glorified for TURNING DOWN drug testing in any sport, also if Manny was this warrior who didn't care about the money, why didn't he accept the deal Floyd made him in 2009, why did he insist on getting 50-50 even though he wasn't making the PPV numbers Floyd was making, why did he extend his contract with Arum in 2012 knowing that he was the reason the fight didn't happen, had he not extended his contract and had he gone on his own we would've seen this fight in 2012 instead of Miguel Cotto, then Pacquiao got KTFO and he had to get back to winning ways first before he fought Floyd, once he had an impressive performance against Algieri the fight got made and he got outclassed by a 38 year old way past his prime, not interested in boxing anymore Floyd Mayweather.

Mayweather is in my top 25 of all time, Ali is number 1 or 2. Mayweather's resume pales in comparison to Ali's or other great fighters. Almost all his wins were guys past there best. Ali had the greatest resume in heavyweight history, he fought in the GOLDEN AGE of heavyweight boxing and beat everyone. Even when Ali was past his prime in the 70s he still beat everyone. Mayweather best win was Corrales which is great but nothing close to Ali. Oh and a 36 year old injured pacquiao after his KO loss to Marquez. Its okay for Floyd to feel like he is TBE cuz thats his ego talking, but his fans should know better. Even Stephan a smith the biggest Floyd lover says hes not close to Ali. Sugar ray leonard would of KOd him. But floyd is good enough to give a good fight.

Those are all excuses. The point is floyd never fought a lot of great fighters of his time, or fought them when they were past their prime. lol at "different promoters" so the fight couldnt be made, so not floyds fault. Pacquiao, Mosley, cotto, Oscar, were all past there best when they fought floyd. and then there are so many other fighters he didnt face. His resume sucks, just hime being undefeated is all he has, but that gets him in my top 25, not even close to TBE.

In some of his interviews prior to the recent fight with Manny Pacquiao, Mayweather made it clear that nobody would be able to change his belief on being better than Ali and Sugar Ray Robinson.

The judgement is only for boxing ability. All this rubbish about what a person stands for is utter crap. We are concerned about a boxer's ring generalship, his offence and stuff and not his political career. Floyd is the greatest and made more money than everyone. If you want to know what he stands for, he stands for Money Mayweather

I'd put Mayweather top 50 all time. Ali is top 2 or 3.

The problem is that his matches are too polite and dancer-like. I think boxing was created because somebody is going to be beating up somebody else. Who is going to win?

When boxing is only about style points, something is broken. It's no longer the same sport. It becomes exquisite and refined -- for the sake of winning style points, like figure skating or a gymnastic routine. I admire Floyd's evasive abilities, but....

Ali kicked people's asses. He had style, but he also had aggression. He waited for his moment and tried to finish his opponent.

Mayweather is right to avoid punishment, but I think if that's the goal, then don't continue boxing. The judges are wrapped around Money's finger, and they don't care if he lacks aggressiveness. So we get boring fights.

Plus at this point, GGG has offered a fight at 154 and Floyd won't take it. But he's fought there before. That would be like Ward saying he'll come down to 160 to fight Golovkin. That's something GGG would love to see, I'm sure.

May is a great fighter, but there have been better: SRR, SRL, Duran, Ali, Armstrong, Gans, Greb, the list just goes on.
