I don't blame Mayweather, He learned it from Top Pank.
Marquez wanted to drain him the way they did Del La Hoya and Cotto

        This is gold.....

In light of the absurdity that arose regarding Mayweathers reading acumen.....

        This is gold.....

The fight was agreed upon to take place at a 144-pound catch-weight to entice Marquez, who at the time was a lightweight, to move up by two weight divisions to fight Mayweather.

Márquez weighed in at 142-pounds, but Mayweather weighed in at 146-pounds - two pounds beyond the limit. There was a financial penalty in the contract which gave Marquez $300,000 for each pound over the limit.

I can see why Marquez is still angry. Floyd purposely didnt make weight. That definitely gave Floyd a competitive advantage.

I was about to climb into you, for childish inaccuracy, but it appears that you are technically correct.

            Cheat :
            verb (used with object)
            1.
            to defraud; swindle:
He cheated her out of her inheritance.
            2.
            to deceive; influence by fraud:
He cheated us into believing him a hero.
            3.
to elude; deprive of something expected:
He cheated the law by suicide.

Mayweather did not cheat in the absolute sense. He renegotiated, and Marquez agreed, rather than risk losing that payday.

Mayweather cheated Marquez in a technical sense, because he manipulated him unfairly.

Mayweather manipulated Marquez..... to avoid a catchweight that should never have been requested/approved..... over a fight that Mayweather should never have signed.

Perhaps we as fans should show more integrity to the sport.

Catchweights are absurd, they simply cannot be justified.
