I would say a bit of both, I figured Manny would end up selling out at the end but it just wasn't meant to be.
A lot of it has to do with great bigger man beats great smaller man also

Mayweather is a great counter puncher Pacquiao was hesitant he was worried about getting countered

I don't get these extreme reactions at all. Pac did alright, but it's like people have forgotten he was always at his best when facing aggressive fighters at 147. He's looked his worst against guys who forced him to lead.
If you're not naturally comfortable with leading the dance Floyd is a very difficult opponent to face. There were ways in which you could have seen Pacquiao having more success but he wasn't able to make it happen.
And as for Froch, Pac did ten times better last night than he did against Ward.

Froch was full of praise.
Don't think I've ever heard Carl so taken aback, he seemed completely mesmerized by what Mayweather was doing.

I would say that this was one of the worst performance I've seen by both fighters.
Pacquiao was hesitant and seemed like he couldn't pull the trigger. I'd say it was on par with his third fight with Marquez (which I thought he lost). There were no angles, limited flurries and very little in & out action.
Floyd was also hesitant and I'd never seen so many swings and misses by him. He's usually very controlled with his movements but I saw a lot of awkward reactions by him. I expect him to counter a lot with hard shots, similar to the Mosley fight.
I expected (hoped) to see a vintage performance by both, the Pacquiao that retired DLH and the Mayweather that destroyed Mosley. Instead I got a Pacquiao that was very limited and a Mayweather that didn't look like himself.
