Floyd was also hesitant and I'd never seen so many swings and misses by him. He's usually very controlled with his movements but I saw a lot of awkward reactions by him. I expect him to counter a lot with hard shots, similar to the Mosley fight.

I expected (hoped) to see a vintage performance by both, the Pacquiao that retired DLH and the Mayweather that destroyed Mosley. Instead I got a Pacquiao that was very limited and a Mayweather that didn't look like himself.
The talk of Floyd walking down Manny and stopping him was always nonsense. Floyd did enough and no more, as usual. For the last four rounds I think the fight went exactly as Floyd wanted. Prior to that it was swinging back and forth.

Manny didn't have any way of pushing Floyd out of his groove going down the stretch. That's what decided the fight.

Don't think I've ever heard Carl so taken aback, he seemed completely mesmerized by what Mayweather was doing.

Froch was still feeling himself over Mayweather acknowledging him when he interviewed him.

Froch: Floyd, I chopped wood before I knocked out George Groves in front of 80,000 people at Wembley Stadium.

        Floyd: What's your question?

Froch: My question is what's your favourite colour.

Remember a PAC fan saying if Manny was down he would go for broke.

          Welp.

            .
Floyd looked the same.... He didnt look young, pacquia is just a washed up congressman, thats all. Floyd just beat the name manny, not the fighter. This fight was a disgrace to boxing and boxing fans but u know how fanboys are gonna love this win regardless. They will probably say this was a prime undefeated pacquiao in their eyes. Its a shame we didnt get this fight in 2010. We were robbed of the real fight and ppl spent their money on this **** fight.... I fell asleep by the 8th round no joke

He didn't make it difficult for Floyd. The occasion got to him when he realised he was in the ring with greatness.

Team Pac had no plan B for TBE and I think Roach should take a lot of the blame.
Truth,,, A lot of people here are calling it correctly IMO, Roach had no game plan, I don't even think Floyd had to adjust much in the fight the way he did with Shane or Cotto

If you're not naturally comfortable with leading the dance Floyd is a very difficult opponent to face. There were ways in which you could have seen Pacquiao having more success but he wasn't able to make it happen.

And as for Froch, Pac did ten times better last night than he did against Ward.
I agree , Pac didn't do so bad , Floyd kept him at the end of his jab for most of the fight, controlling distance and side stepping every time Pac tried to force his way in.

Pac simply couldn't get in punching range, cutting off the ring is not his style, he likes to ambush , but Floyd is a veteran and didn't fall for Manny's traps often.

Punching more without getting into mid range would have been suicidal for Pac imo, Floyd would have potshotted the hell out of Manny on the outside, being the better boxer and having a substantial reach advantage.

Maidana is much bigger than Manny, and went for mauling at cost of smothering his own work. That wasn't an option for Pac, so the comparison is useless imo.

Overally a rather good fight, as it is often the case in big fights tension played a factor

                      These reactions are typically due to one of 2 reasons;
                      - Uninformed about boxing and the strategy (which exists in all sports) of making your opponent fight/play the way you want.
                      - People really dont like Floyd because they believe he is a Villain

The sad thing about the second one is that I know some people who know boxing and they still cant appreciate his Mastery of the sport and you have to wonder, how much of it is Character dislike and how much of it is about Ethnicity dislike
