Apparently HBO won't host Cotto's next fight unless Canelo is guaranteed next.

    .....................

NSB is getting as bad as boxing itself....

So now Cotto who fought the best out there Money, Pac, Margacheater, Mosley just to name a few is now afraid of Canelo?? GGG??

Hahaha you guys are joking right??

So I ask, who has GGG beaten that he is soooo good??
    And Canelo??

Having a fan following does not mean you are the best.....

Why no one wants to see Canelo vs GGG??? Winner takes Cotto??
I mean Canelo is soooo good right??

Cotto wasn't negotiating in good faith. He was negotiating with Roc Sports and seems intent on milking his new contract by delaying the Cotto-Canelo fight.

If he fights Canelo and loses, his remaining fights on his ROC deal will be less lucrative.
cotto was waiting to see if Pac v Floyd got made before making a deal for a canelo fight. that is completely understandable. what isn't is canelo making the Kirkland fight so quickly after it had been on the table for a year or so.

WHy didn't he just wait and fight cotto in MSG in June?

HBO is choosing the fight that will make the most money over getting GGG a title fight. They have every right to do what they choose, but GGG needs to speak up about this.

If you were GGG, wouldn't you be pissed off at this?
if cotto chooses the hbo route there will be no title in line by the time cotto-canelo happens... cotto fights voluntary next and then if he fights canelo instead of ggg he gets stripped ...
ggg knows the cotto fight wont happen he will get the title one way or another..
the best option for hbo and cotto now is to do cotto-k9 and then have that title in the line for the canelo fight...

My thoughts are that HBO is choosing to back canelo because that fight seems more realistic and is a bigger money fight. Sure GGG should be upset with HBO but I think he and his handlers know that Cotto is going to vacate and understand HBO's stance.

            GGG must be pissed off.
I'm sure HBO would make an exception if Cotto decided he wants to fight Golovkin.

Arum is trying to snatch K9 away from Cotto and have Bradley face him.

If I'm GGG, watching them work to get Canelo the fight before me would really piss me off as this is the stance I've been arguing HBO needs to take on behalf of GGG with both cotto and canelo.

I guess waiting to vacate makes sense, but then the lineage is vacated unless GGG fights Quillin, which appears difficult.

I still believe in my theory over yours. He got an 8 million guarantee when he fought Floyd. He was offered a 10 million+ guarantee against Canelo.

Taking the fight against Canelo is actually the bigger money fight for him.

Losing to Alvarez may lessen Cotto's earning power, but not much. He's still one of the 4 biggest stars in the sport.

Alvarez was setting "deadlines" way too early. He tried to be the big man and act the bigger star and force the May 5 date like he was going to compete with Mayweather for it. Far as I'm concerned, it's Alvarez's fault.

I get this but it doesn't help GGG get the lineal title or gets him a ppv fight, the exact opposite of how HBO has been marketing him.
