Part of the deal is that the fighters will be covered on ESPN and SportsCenter. That is ****ing huge! Al Haymon is a genius. Such a great time to be a boxing fan.

Not sure if you knew this or not but ESPN was already putting on Boxing fights. They had Friday Night Fights and were even putting on shows on primetime spots like the Arreloa vs Stiverne on ESPN. And still that didn't get much coverage on SportsCenter.

This is basically a expensive infomercial for Haymon's fighters. I don't see how this is going to work. He's paying insane money for the air time and he's also responsible for paying the fighter purses. And so far his first 2 cards didn't pull great ratings. Damn his investors are losing money. Kathy Duva said it best

“I did a show on NBC two, three years ago. I had a $150,000 rights fee. I had to live in that,” she said. “At the peak of my show, I had 3.2 (million watching), they had 4.2. He went out and spent $8 million on marketing, production, the time buy and only got a million more people to watch than I did. My marketing budget on that show was $5,000.”



The model just can't sustain itself. He just spent millions and millions for his Spike TV card and it did less ratings then a Rerun of Cops that aired on Spike immediately before the PBC show. Yet the license to re-air Cops is a mere fraction of what he just spent for less ratings. Either his investors will get tired of losing money or he will have to drastically cut costs. To do that he will need to pay his fighters peanuts like MMA does or lower the quality of fights similar to a Friday Night Fights quality.

How do you know how a fight will play out before seeing it?

Most boxing fans want Al to put on either the best possible fights or want to see the fights turn out better than they appear on paper.

You want him to put on bad matches so this fails or you want the fights to suck solely because you have made up in your mind that he is plotting a takeover to form a monopoly, even though there is no evidence to support this.

Its beginning to look like you are trying to hide the real reasons you want this to fail.

Haymon cannot put on the best possible fights unless he deals with other promoters such as Roc Nation, Golden Boy, Top Rank, K2 and others. He will not do so. Therefore he cannot put on the best fights.

I would love to see him put on fights that I want to see. Kovalev-Stevenson, GGG-Quillin are two that come to mind. Even Cotto-GGG or Canelo-GGG. What chance do you think I have of seeing those fights on PBC at any time in the future? Yeah, I thought so.

On paper, I agree. Fights are not fought on paper. You may get an ATG fight with 2 lesser named fighters.

As for those en******, if them not working with Haymon forces them to make the best matchups-say GGG v Canelo-then that still works out well for fans.

cotto/ggg and canelo/GGG do not involve Haymon. As for the others, Stevenson just finally requested the Kov fight, so perhaps you will. Again, your paranoia is not factual.

You said that, but its getting hard to believe that. I'm not the only poster suggesting this either. All you know so far is you got two good nights of boxing as part of this series.

How will Haymon have total control if these other en****** you mentioned still have fighters and an outlet for those fights?

My guess is you want it to fail because you think if it succeeds the fighters tied to HBO and those promoters will jump ship because they see more exposure and better paydays. Its as if you are afraid of competition and change.

Are you serious? We know this by Haymon's history. He got booted and boycotted off of HBO because he was trying to strong arm them to overpay for his guys to fight bums. Last year nothing but terrrible mismatches on Showtime. So far in 2 cards of PBC not one single fight has seen an upset. The first card on NBC saw all the fights open with a vegas 10-1 or higher odds. Haymon is known for protecting his fighters and puts on mismatches to inflate their records. And he currently has beef with all the major promoters. So what you are going to get is mismatches in his own stable pool. You aint seeing his guys fight any of the champions and top fighters from other big promoters. So how are we getting "the best possible" fights? His first fight card he refused to let his fighters hold up their world titles. Why do you think that is? Because he's rumored to be creating his own boxing league with his own belts. Which means none of his guys will be fighting the best fighters in the world. They will instead just be fighting his own guys. That's just what boxing needs more walls to prevent the best fighting the best.

You guys cry about arum and king destroying boxing after all these years. now we have haymon trying to get the sport back into mainstream and back onto network tv and you b1tches crying even more.

Face it, there never has or never will be a perfect system for boxing. Promoter, managers, the network and even fighters will have some disagreement or issue with a certain fight being made. This is a business so, politics will happen, in terms of favoritism and not aligning with another. It's all competition! There has been alot of fights that has never happened in this sport, deal with it b1tch! Take your fantasy fights and put them in your xbox 3. All that matters is the sport still lives on considering year after year, people keep saying the sport is dying.

haymon is working with hbo and arum to put on pac-mayweather! this is a good sign, and people aren't even talking about it.

i never thought i'd see the day where clowns like you with your fingers in your ass taking sides for networks and promoters. i don't care for haymon but i have to take my hat off for "trying" to uplift the sport with the moves he's making.

If there is one thing I know for certain with all this Al Haymon, PBC stuff its that a lot of people have no f#cking clue what a monopoly is.
