Floyd - Manny had nothing to do with Haymon at all. If anything, it was done in spite of Haymon not because of him.

So they changed it again? It was originally 12 rounds then it was 10 and now it's back to 12. Let me know when they dump the catch weight and put the titles up for grabs and I might consider watching it.

And I notice they have females on the card now? ALL RIGHT! Everyone on board for some foxy boxing!

I would have preferred this deal to go into place but have FNF stay in place, even if in a reduced schedule format.

Still, I shouldn't complain. More boxing and more options is a great thing.
Haymon has dates on BounceTV, NBCSN, and CBS Sports to fill, in addition to the likely continued fights on ShoBox; there are more than enough stages to showcase FNF-type fights, where prospects get their first opportunities on TV.

He's paying insane money for the air time and he's also responsible for paying the fighter purses. And so far his first 2 cards didn't pull great ratings. Damn his investors are losing money. Kathy Duva said it best

“I did a show on NBC two, three years ago. I had a $150,000 rights fee. I had to live in that,” she said. “At the peak of my show, I had 3.2 (million watching), they had 4.2. He went out and spent $8 million on marketing, production, the time buy and only got a million more people to watch than I did. My marketing budget on that show was $5,000.”

The model just can't sustain itself. He just spent millions and millions for his Spike TV card and it did less ratings then a Rerun of Cops that aired on Spike immediately before the PBC show. Yet the license to re-air Cops is a mere fraction of what he just spent for less ratings. Either his investors will get tired of losing money or he will have to drastically cut costs. To do that he will need to pay his fighters peanuts like MMA does or lower the quality of fights similar to a Friday Night Fights quality.
4m viewers watched Keith Thurman fight his last bout; if things go accordingly, "One Time" will fight two more times this year (maybe on another primetime telecast, but likely on one of the NBC/CBS/ABC broadcasts). Before the deals run their course, Keith Thurman is likely to have fought in 6 fights.

Even if the deals fall through, Thurman would be heading back to Showtime after being seen by over 20m viewers. If I had to guess, Thurman would've been able to pick up a nice little fanbase there.

Haymon cannot put on the best possible fights unless he deals with other promoters such as Roc Nation, Golden Boy, Top Rank, K2 and others. He will not do so. Therefore he cannot put on the best fights.

I would love to see him put on fights that I want to see. Kovalev-Stevenson, GGG-Quillin are two that come to mind. Even Cotto-GGG or Canelo-GGG. What chance do you think I have of seeing those fights on PBC at any time in the future? Yeah, I thought so.

I want it to fail because I think having one person with too much power over boxing, or over any sport or business, is a bad thing and history has proven time and time again that absolute power corrupts absolutely. With Haymon, we are already starting with some who is corrupt so more power will only make things worse, not better, for boxing.
Between the four companies that you named, you'r almost literally talking about Haymon missing out on maybe 10 fighters, lol. GTFOH

SAP versions of the ESPN fights, if I read it clearly

They need to build the brand, and feed the public predictably in a steady fashion while getting the public/casuals to get acquainted with the fighters.

Just don't see it working... Haymon not working with Top Rank, GBP, Roc, etc. will limit his options.

Too many networks, ...I doubt he can match up a steady flow of competitive fights for the AMOUNT of tv time/shows they have planned. If you don't put out a good product, it won't work long term.

HBO has been in the game for years and they aren't going anywhere.. ODLH/GBP won't sit on their @ss. You bet Oscar is competitive. I expect HBO to continue to put on good shows like they did this past year.
PBC, once things get going, will have stretches of time where they will have a show every week (on some channel), that was beforehand cross-promoted on all of the other PBC stations.

Four shows per month isn't all that hectic a pace, especially considering that the two Mayweather fights are the only PPVs that Haymon is involved in; Stevenson-Kovalev, Klistchko-Wilder, and Froch-Chavez Jr/Khan-Brook are the only 'maybe' PPVs that I see.

You will not watch a 12rd fight between two of the best 140 lb fighters because their titles are not on the line and the fight is at 143 and an overall decent card because there are females on the card. Pathetic.

You are not really a boxing fan. You seem more of a HBO/TR fan and for whatever reasons feel very threatened by Haymon.

I think boxing as a whole is threatened by Haymon. I have no trust in the guy at all and do not think he is above fixing fights in his fighters' favour.

I have no interest in watching a fight between two title holders in the same division at a catchweight with no title on the line. Would you watch the Superbowl if it was just a demonstration game with no meaning? They have a chance to unify so why not do it? Unified titles are in the sport's best interest. If Haymon wants to create his own title holders down the line, why not start with a unified champion to hand your own title to?

April 11th is also the last day of the NHL season and there will likely be a number of hockey games that will interest me a lot more than a non-title catchweight fight will. I may tune in to catch the Lee - Quillin fight, or at least part of it.

The weights and the titles not being on the line are of minimal importance if the fight turns out to be great. Your paranoia doesn't mean things are really this way. You have no proof this is Haymon's plan, but are suggesting it to justify your not watching the card.

The Super Bowl analogy fails given the nature of the game. The better analogy, would you watch the Thursday game if both starting QB's were hurt? Me, yes, if I was interested in the game.

So long as you have the same distrust for TR, GBP and anyone else who puts on cards, I have no problem.
