You don't take the type of beating that Bute took from Froch and just come back the same. That was a confident, undefeated fighter and Froch utterly brutalized him for 5 rounds.

He was damaged goods with zero confidence when he got in with Pascal. Pascal beating him was the easiest good-odds bet I've ever come across.
That was not a confident fighter that got beat for 5 rounds. He was jittery and not prepared well enough. He did well the first two rounds to win them but it's his style that led to him getting fuxed up.

Bute finally opened up the last 2 rounds vs Pascal and started whooping his ass, but too little too late.

Do you really think Ward was scared of Bute?

Like most undefeated world champions, Bute clearly carried himself with confidence. You could see it from his interviews and general attitude pre-fight, his confidence was at a point where he was fully expecting to roll into Nottingham and leave with another win.

That confidence was taken from him very quickly (2nd round), and it never came back. As for Pascal, the man has no stamina, he very rarely wins the final rounds and he didn't have to, he beat Bute up for the rest of them.

Froch was MUCH more aggressive and relentless in that fight than I've ever seen him - he was a real beast, after seeming so lethargic in his fight with Ward.

How could someone Froch's age at that time suddenly improve so much for that fight? I think the answer is obvious: he was on something.

But yes, Bute was ruined in that fight. You don't come back in your 230s after a beating like that.

              Nonsense.

Bute isn't half the fighter Ward is, his defence was wide open, he's not fast, his power didn't bother Froch at all and he couldn't handle Froch's power...you mix those things together and what you have is a fighter in Bute who was nothing but a lamb to the slaughter.

Froch was also fighting for his career in front of his home crowd, he was amped. Bute felt the full force of it.

                  ............................

He didn't improve, Bute wasn't good enough. Froch was open for a counter when he was smothering Bute on the ropes, but it's just that Bute didn't have it to clinch, counter or move around to keep Froch off of him.

Again, do you have any proof about the "on something" part?

Froch had no respect for Bute unlike Ward. As soon as Froch hit him, he smelled blood and adrenaline took over. Froch is British and is tested all year round. Suggesting that he was on PEDS without a shred of proof is very disappointing.
