Do I have to point out the obvious. Walking in last, is a respect thing. There's money, respect- announcing order, names on posters, etc. and things that could impact the fight, like weight or gloves. Are u serious?

I pointed out the fallacy in your logic by posting that. You posted a CAUSE AND EFFECT statement that didn't really equate.

You said if it's negotiated it's because it has to have a BEARING on the outcome of the fight.

I was simply pointing out that many insignificant things are negotiated, thus there are holes to your logic. You used fallacious logic to STRESS the importance of glove selection in this one particular circumstance.

If you would have actually read my post you would have realized that I admit gloves have a very small impact on the outcome of the fight.

But I challenge you to name ONE fight in which both fighters used LEGAL gloves that the outcome of the fight was solely dictated by the use of puncher's gloves versus protective gloves.

Gloves are a VERY SMALL factor when it comes to weighing real variables. You're telling me that puncher's gloves have even a .1% impact on the outcome of a fight compared to skill level?

If that was the case ODLH should have beat Floyd, because they are relatively evenly skilled (touted amateur backgrounds) and he got to wear his gloves and force Floyd to wear a brand that hurts his hands.

How did that turn out again?

Also consider that Floyd has worn "winning" brand gloves ever since his hand issues arose, and he has often fought against fighters wearing puncher's gloves. That hasn't caused him to lose yet has it?

in the grand scheme of things, if two fighters agree on something in the negotiations and it gets put on the contract and they agree, then its settled. whether its a ***** move or not, the other fighter agreed and is ok with it.
with that said, even if gloves give someone a .01 percent edge, we dont know how it affects these athletes who are at the top of the game. that .01 percent could be the straw that breaks the camels back.
