It also reveals how his mind works. What he said was true, but people need to pay special attention to the logic he sees: Cotto (the opponent) would command too much money, so it is more profitable to put Floyd in the ring with a stiff.

It is the logic he applies when match making, and it shows why he was in no rush to make the fight with Mayweather. Logically, he stands to lose money because he doesn't have access to Mayweather's earnings (contrary to what would happen if it was an inhouse fight) and Mayweather would command more of the revenue.

Thats exactly what I was thinking when reading this article, how his mind works just typifies everything for me, the fact that Cotto is someone he has a working relationship with now and use to promote full time before makes it even more daring.

Arum is wrong here completely. Cotto will want way more than $13 million... he just turned down a 60/40 split in a Canelo PPV match...

Floyd is not getting more than his regular $31-32 mil offer though..that's where the problem lies..hence why Floyd is desperate to fight Pacquiao... Floyd wasn't so desperate 3-5 years ago when Pac was an unstoppable force...

Floyd better run to take 60/40 vs Pac... otherwise... He and Showtime will be losing money another year...

The fact that Floyd is being an annoying pos in the negotiations after Pac agreed to 60/40 and all the other BS demands just shows how out of touch he is...

Unless Cotto is an idiot its obvious what is happening. He would have made a ton of money fighting Canelo and he turned it down because something better is on the table. If Mayweather/Pac falls through this rematch is happening and it will do numbers.

Then he must be an idiot because I don't see how he makes more fighting Floyd then he does fighting Canelo for a much bigger split of the pie.
