Is Naoya Inoue the next Big Asian Boxing Star

The answer to the question of the thread should be an obvious yes. Right now, Asia's biggest boxing star is Manny Pacquiao, However, I would not be surprised if Inoues following grows and he gets star status too. He is making history with only a few fights under his belt, And I honestly don't think we have seen the best of him yet. That is scary. I think Inoue would maul Shiming.

He should try to beat Shiming, but I think Arum wants Shiming as a champion for awhile plus I don't think Zou is ready for that yet.

Gonzalez and Inoue are gonna need to meet down the road.

Hard to say but he is extremely talented. Sadly that doesn't translate into stardom, just look at Rigo. Unless he moves up beyond the 122 and fights outside of Japan, I don't see him reaching the answer you seek. Sad to say the least but atleast we are able to witness a rare talent in his natural habitat, the shark infested lower weight divisions.

Rigo has absolutely found a home in Japan. 32 Million views in Japan.

You think 32 million people tuned in to watch Guillermo Rigondeaux?

If you're a fan of Japanese boxing you should know that the Japanese love the sport. That's why Japanese boxers don't have to leave Japan to make money or for honor and glory.

Rigondeaux will have made some new fans if his performance was as great as his fans are gassing it up to be if there really was 32 million viewers though.

Or maybe not, because the Japanese media and fans know that Hisashi A****sa is simply a journeyman that was moving down in weight. Most Japanese media and other boxing media expected Rigondeaux to get A****sa out of there in 3 rounds or less.

As for your question, Naoya Inoue is already a big star in Japan.

I doubt he'll become a superstar in all of Asia though. The only Asian boxing star there's ever been is Manny Pacquiao, and that wasn't until he was fighting at 126+ pounds.
