Golovkin himself isnt scared to fight ward

Fighters fight. They aren't scared to fight other fighters.

But Golovkins trainer Abel Sanchez has said ggg needs more experience to fight ward. And Sanchez has a huge say as to who golovkin fights, so much so that k2 flew him out to watch Chavez Vera rematch to determine whether that's a good fight for ggg.

And ward has said he wants ggg to become a bigger star so the fight can be as big as possible when they do eventually fight

Because of wards inactivity, Virgil hunter has said he needs two tune ups before fighting golovkin

Basically, I haven't read all the thread but I'm guessing I'm saying what dirk is because let's be honest, sorry but he's the only one who seems to have a clue what he's talking about. Rest are just nuthuggers of a particular fighter.

Do you seriously see Cotto fighting Golovkin? Canelo MAYBE...but then again, why wouldn't he fight Quillin? He was gonna fight Clottey...

Btw, if you watch the interview, he's talking generally about Golovkin and not specifically about a fight with him. What he's saying is true. Beating Golovkin right now doesn't get you anything life changing money wise.
Quillin's best option has to be Jacobs. I think Taylor is too caught up in legal trouble. They could do the show in Brooklyn too. Only thing is that means Quillin would be interim champion to Golovkin's strap.

I get what you're saying, if Haymon could get Quillin 1.4m to fight Korobov he should be able to get him a million fighting Taylor or Jacobs, makes it easier that they are American fighters as well.

Does anyone know if Quillin dropped that fight because Roc Nation was involved? (I believe they were)

Haymon didn't get him 1.4 million. Quillin was only going to get that much because Roc Nation put up like 2 million for the fight. It wasn't Haymon's doing.

          Cotto? No way.

But I would definitely expect Alvarez to fight Golovkin. He's given me no reason to think he wouldn't.

So Haymon advises Quillin to drop it? It makes no sense, I just want to understand how dropping that fight made sense to Quillin. Not what his team told him, if he himself thought dropping that fight made any sense.

If Quillin ends up fighting for purse below $800k in his next fight he might as well of targeted Golovkin unless he really just wants to avoid the beatdown. Does the undefeated record really sell? If he loses one fight is that it for him, I wouldn't think so.

Golovkin fans will just have to wait for the ABC organizations to delegate mandatory fighters I guess.

I'm not being pedantic, just trying to get to the truth.

"Ward needs to realise that GGG is not just an opponent" means something entirely different than: "Ward does not bring enough money to the table."

And GGG saying he would only move up to 168 for a big pay per view fight means something different again.

So GGG has not made statements about Ward which were "identical" to what Quillin said about him.

Somebody wrote here that because of the contract Quillin signed with Haymon he can't fight anybody unless Haymon agrees to it. So maybe it doesn't matter what Quillin thought about it. Maybe he had to do it whether it made sense to him or not.

I think I've asked you about 4 or 5 times now but when was Ward even given the chance to "treat GGG like an opponent? You have to actually enter a negotiation for that to happen and Golovkin's team were not willing to do that because Ward "doesn't make financial sense" and doesn't bring enough money to the table and isn't a big pay per view fight.

Like I said, stop being pedantic. All the statements are connected and very similar. Golovkin wants to be paid well to take a very risky fight against Ward.
