It is a green light. The red light came when Golovkin's manager said Ward doesn't bring enough money.

The same questions could be asked to Golovkin regarding Ward. Ward doesn't bring enough money compared who who? Has Golovkin been making huge purses for the likes of Rubio and Geale? No he has not.

No. At least I don't think so. He usually fights on B-Hop's undercards.

Hokpins is 50 years old, if he'll retire next year, Petey's ****ed.

It doesn't matter what you want to say, you are saying it and then claiming you are not. That means you are either being disingenuous or you do not understand what you are writing. Which is it?

It wasn't a green light, how can you not see that? Golovkin's team have always sounded very open to Ward but that there are better options which all things considered is clearly a correct view.

Chavez, Froch, Cotto, and Canelo. Those are the names they are currently wanting to fight over Ward. Unfortunately none of them, nor Ward, were an alternative to Rubio and Geale.

If you know me, you know I don't mince my words. I don't consider Golovkin to be ducking Ward. He is looking to get paid more for that fight because it's a risky one to him. Right now, the risk doesn't add up to the reward for him and I understand that.

I also understand what Qullin is saying here.

No they haven't. Read the quotes from Golovkin's manager, Tom Loefler. They don't want that fight.

Obviously there are better options - more money. So then Golovkin fans shouldn't complain when other fighters say he doesn't bring enough money.

what better options than golovkin does a beltless quillin have?

and cotto and canelo are not only more lucrative than ward, but also have the advantage of fighting in the same division as golovkin. once it is settled whether one or both of them will ever face golovkin, i have no doubt that he will move up to 168 lbs and face ward (if ward is ready)

                    1. Peter Quillin should not ever mention Golovkin's name again...In fact, he should just shut up about everything. If he stayed quiet some people might actually feel bad for him, considering that his life is 100% controlled by Al Haymon, but he is too dumb to even come close to making a point in trying to justify anything about the recent events in his career.

                    2. Let's also not talk about Ward until he is back in the ring. If anyone believes that Ward would be dumb enough to fight GGG coming off a year and a half break, they are crazy beyond repair.

The situation is not the same at all. Golovkin has the prospect of very large money fighting other fighters than trying to bring a fighter out of semi-retirement. Why is it so hard to understand Ward isn't able to fight anyone right now? He just isn't a viable option until he proves otherwise.

Quillin-Golovkin would probably make good money for both on HBO. Haymon might be able to get Quillin similar money fighting Jacobs and/or Taylor. Now if that is true then I can understand Quillin going that route right now but Quillin's ducking of Golovkin didn't just start now, it has been going on for quite a while now. Quillin's talk of money is as much bull**** as the 'cold war' explanation.

Loeffler wants other options ahead of Ward, that doesn't mean he doesn't want Golovkin to face Ward. He is obviously going to prioritise fighting in his own division, then prioritise the more lucrative fights at 168. Ward is clearly a red herring.
