GGG is not a PPV-worthy fighter and never will be. Knocking out unworthy opponents does not make you a PPV fighter. If it did, Deontay Wilder would be appearing on PPV now and former knockout artists like Randall Bailey would have made a dozen appearances on PPV. If GGG ever fights in a PPV, he will be the B-side. Andre Ward is in the same boat. He will never be able to carry a PPV and will be the B-side if he appears in a PPV.

De La Hoya, Mayweather, Cotto, (and to the extent that they are PPV draws) Chavez and Alvarez did not become PPV worthy fighters because of their skill and power in the ring. They became PPV worthy because of their marketability. GGG does not have that marketability and never will.

Two B-side fighters cannot make a PPV fight, no matter how good they are. If you don't believe that, go back and look at the Hopkins-Dawson II fight and see how it did on PPV. We will never see Ward-GGG on PPV. They can let the fight marinate as long as they want. It will never be any bigger than it is now.

GGG is a normal sized middleweight, if he moves up he'll want to grow into the division, heck he hasn't even unified the belts yet Cotto is holding that WBC belt hostage.
GGG was offered $2 million to fight Chavez on PPV. He would earn about the same amount fighting Ward on regular HBO. He made it clear that he had no problem moving up to 168 to fight Chavez, but refused to do that to fight Ward. He is no different than all the people he and his fans are accusing of ducking him.

I'm puzzled why you and others keep talking about GGG refusing to move up to 168 for Ward. He's never been asked or invited to do it.
How do you turn down an offer you've never had, or duck a fight that can't be made, even if both men want it?

I can agree with to a point, i agree that a Ward/GGG fight doesnt belong on PPV, but it most likely will. Its sad the state of boxing, barring 2013, that we as fans are robbed of great match-ups and there are starving fans out there who want no more than to just see a good match up between 2 good fighters-HBO knows this-so they put a price tag on it and because the fans are starving, they will most likely pay. Thankfully the PPV market is over saturated atm.

It will be a great fight, but don't hold your breath - 2016 is the earliest it's likely to happen.

GGGs got Murray, the WBC title shot and will, I'm sure, be trying to get his hands on the WBO strap as well in 2015

Ward is still tied up in court and Hunter says he'll need two tune-ups even when that gets done.

Yeah they can fight down the road. All GGG is saying is the exact same thing Ward is saying- they want to fight each other but not right now, later when it's bigger.

Ward hasn't fought in over a year and they are planning two tune up fights for whenever Ward does return. Golovkin is saying he'll fight him down the road. So it's the exact same thing, yet some people make it out as GGG is ducking Ward, a guy he can't even fight at the moment lol.

People also forget that GGG IS the mandatory to the WBC belt. If Golovkin moved up in weight now he'd obviously lose his mandatory position. No way is Golovkin going to risk his shot at Cotto/Canelo. The plan for GGG is obviously to unify and fight either Cotto or Canelo for a huge fight. Once he does that he can take on Ward. By then Ward himself will hopefully be done with his tune up fights. This is perfect for the both of them.

But of course posters on here are unrealistic. They want Golovkin to move up a weight class right this minute and fight Andre Ward who isn't even fighting and even if he could fight right now, he wants tune ups first. Lol some members on here can't use their brains at all.
