He did mention the lay off but other than that, he also claimed that he never fought such an awkward opponent like Bundu before.
this i understand, bundu was constantly switching stances. i still think he could have let his hands go a little bit more

Thurman did himself no favors fighting this guy honestly, even though he shutout an undefeated fighter who looked skilled and very hard to stop. Everybody just saw his age and the fact that he hadn't fought in the US and deemed him a bum and easy KO victim, so Thurman not delivering the stoppage and fighting the way he did left a very bad taste in people's mouths. In terms of good publicity, he would have been better off battering somebody like Josesito Lopez or Victor Ortiz. However, this fight will help his development as a fighter more than grabbing another easy KO win.

        Thurman is potential p4p king.

        Amazing striker.

I don't see someone stops him other that great counterpuncher like Floyd Mayweather.

But this bout will never happen since brothers shouldn't fight each other.

There're too many fakes who haven't paid dues.

He didn't put up much of an effort. He fought not to lose. I tuned in one more time around the 9th and the commentators stated Thurman hadn't sat down on his punches since the 1st round. Tells you all you need to know about that fight. A mailed in performance.

That's what I'm saying; people underestimate Bundu, an undefeated veteran who's only been down once 10 years ago and yet, people give Thurman no credit for being the first one to beat him? Really unfair.

I wish more people did like you and actually look up the guy instead going by absolutely nothing on him.

I like the potential of this gimmick account.

Mayweather clinches and potshots his way to a 12 round decision, gets rocked in doing so = genious.
Thurman wins every round, lets his hands go, no clinches= Trash

Yeah yeah Maidana is much better than Bundu but cmon, noone claims Thurman is TBE/P4P, it didnt cost 75$ to watch this fight, and he didnt make 40 million $. Sure it was a hand picked old opponent, and he runs his mouth alot but give the guy a break.

No, it does not. See, that's why you need to watch the whole fight instead of going by that one thing the commentators said. It has nothing to do with not putting up effort. In fact, Paulie explained why Thurman was fighting like that in that same round. Did you hear that part?

Thurman needs to brush up on his defensive skills on the technical side. His only defense is his feet.
