This is exactly what I've been saying in this post of mine:
Originally posted by KRAFTSMAN View PostThese PPV numbers don't even paint a complete picture. As one poster summed it up succinctly, TR spends one dollar to make $100, GBP (Schaefer/Haymon/Mayweather) spends $100 to make one dollar.
It's a known fact that Mayweather's fights are heavily promoted. They also spend enormous sums on undercards. Which is good and bad for the fans; Good for PPV buyers, but bad for subscribers because they don't really translate into producing more subscription-based fights - result of spending big on TBE fights, there's nothing left to fund regular fights.
But we noticed that they tried to spend wisely in the Maidana 2, ie, the crappy undercards. It's actually a Catch 22 for them. If they spend little on promotion, they attract less customers. If they spend big, they get more buyers, but the profit is not something to brag about.

Is anybody surprised? Maidana is a terrible fighter and fights like a caveman.
Floyd is simply too good for anyone that the "We only work with Haymon fighters because we're trying to turn boxing into WWE" Showtime "stable" has to offer.
The only way Floyd could be challenged is if he fights fighters who aren't exclusive to Showtime/Haymon/GBP. None of them are in his league and they're all terrible overrated by casual fans who DKSAB.
Too skilled. Too fast. Too everything.
