If Pacquiao looks as bad as I see plausible, the fight is dead, let alone losing.

If Pacquiao loses to Algeria, all talk of a Floyd vs Manny fight needs to stop.

you didn't answer the question with any sincerity. If manny loses, is the fight still viable?

Thanks. I asked only because after the JMM ko, it seemed talk of the fight died down considerably.

If manny gets robbed like he did in the 1st tim fight, I think they still make the fight. If he gets KO'd (not likely) or if a zahir raheem/ morales situation occurs, then I agree the fight would be dead.

I just want to see Floyd handle what Manny brings to the table, fast explosive combos, angles, stamina and power.
If Algieri wins its not going to be as exciting and it won't make sense.

OK. thank you for answering. Your answer suggests that Floyd's position here-win the fight and then we can talk- is reasonable.

Of course it's reasonable. If Pacquiao wins it doesn't even have to be the next fight, as long as it's the last.

it wouldnt affect the fight at all. It will still do more than any other fighters floyd can fight. If pac losing will affect the fight then we might as well forget about this fight since pac already got ko right? Even after the ko this is still the most talked about match up. And why does it matter if pac loses or not in his up coming fight?

I would hope its in May. I don't want to see Floyd go out like Hagler did-even though I understood why Hagler was so frustrated and retired.

My main point is-the position Floyd took here is the right one.

after the JMM loss talk of the fight died down until Manny beat Bradley (officially). if he loses to a 14-1 underdog it could be perceived by fans he has no chance to beat Floyd-which obviously makes the fight less appealing.

It matters because winning and losing matters to sports fans, especially the casual fans that purchase boxing ppv's.

The main point is-Floyd's position here is perfectly reasonable.
