It matters because winning and losing matters to sports fans, especially the casual fans that purchase boxing ppv's.
The main point is-Floyd's position here is perfectly reasonable.

This is not a fight between 2 undefeated fighters so manny losing will not hurt the fight at all, it will hurt him during negotiation but not the fight itself. This is a match up to see who's the best between these 2 so regardless of how pac performs in November this fight will still outdo any other fight at this moment.
The fight is gaining steam again because Floyd had a tough time with a fighter far worse than Manny. So if manny then loses to a 14-1 underdog not many casual fans are going to think he can beat Floyd-which reduces the viability of the fight.
Only manny fans think there is a real question about who is better. See my sig-check out the ring ****zine vote.

The thread is about what Floyd said-I think what he said is perfectly reasonable because almost everyone-except the manny diehards and posters like you who are but claim otherwise-knows that if manny loses to a 14-1 JWW underdog (again I don't think he will but anything can happen) anyway but a clear robbery fans will likely not be clamoring for a Floyd v manny fight.

I asked a simple question-you think if manny loses to algieiri that the Floyd v manny fight will still be as viable to the public as it is if manny wins. I don't. 2 other posters don't.
The fact the fight cooled off after JMM ko'd manny-especially considering Manny didn't fight for 11 months and when he did fought in china and saw his ppv sales almost cut in half-illustrates this.
If you disagree, fine.

If Floyd is the biggest name, the biggest face, the smallest ballz in Boxing, this illiterate could have already made three fights with Manny by now. Leonard, Hagler, Hearns and Duran had 9 FIGHTS between them all in their prime! That's phukkin' machismo... Something Floyd lacks. Even Sergio Martinez manned up and told his people, 'give Cotto anything he wants; just make the fight happen!' That's credible. I have more respect for that as a champion, that Floyd hand picking opponents and staging All Access with SHO, to sell tickets. What a weasel.

When you tell me , please let me know the defining fights of Jr at WW that makes him greater than Pac and why Pac should give into new unmade demands that are coming that we all KNOW will happen for instance PILLOW GLOVES.
IF the fight is signed and at the time of wrapping hands Jr comes up with a glove change or the fight is OFF , I hope its OFF and let all HELL come down on JR for the **** he pulls.
