Bottom line is Mayweather is rich from this, it's all superficial like the lifestyle. Some day Mayweather is going to meet and get to know someone important to him - himself. Like I said before, he is at the age nearing 40 where he should be having an epiphany and discover that he is not the public image, the superstar, that he is what is stripped below all of that as person and that all the HO's and rent-a-relationships and gaudy crap around him are hollow and meaningless. Wont find any of that hooked up to the hearse that takes his body away.
Some day, maybe before or when he retires he will come out of his room and yell out loud "Everyone, get the *** outta ma house!". And they will be like "May-eeen, why you do me like that?". And he'll be like, "cause you aint real, you just a bunch ***in' zombies, now get the *** out or I'll shoot yo asses in the head!"
And then when no one is around, and the silence is deafening, he'll meet that person inside of him and get to know him and realize everything before that point was just one big illusion and he will make real contact with himself. Then he'll be the person he was meant to be.
He'll call up Pac when they are in their 60's and say, "hey man, lets go fishin'!" And they'll talk about the old days.Last edited by richardt; 09-18-2014, 09:06 PM.

How is Showtime not making a profit?
The gate alone did about $15 million so that alone covers the fighters not named Floyd's purses.
I don't see how they would be losing money and still guaranteeing Floyd $32 million.
One million PPV buys for Mayweather-Maidana would generate roughly $70 million in gross revenue based on a price of $65 (standard definition) and $75 (hi-def). The buys skew typically slightly higher for the HD broadcast over standard def. The cable carriers take about 50% of the pie and Showtime also gets a small cut leaving around $34 million for the fighters and promoters on one million buys. It would take 1.5 million buys to top $50 million after the carriers and Showtime get their cut. There are other revenue streams, mainly the live gate which was $15 million and the fourth highest in the history of Las Vegas. Closed-circuit, foreign rights and sponsorships from Corona, O’Reilly Auto Parts and AT&T T +0.4% add millions more

I also expect this to be the last Mayweather fight that actually sells unless he can get Pacquiao... I think this fight is the one that broke the camel's back..
