Why not? It sounds like he's content to just sit back and not fight.
He thinks his status is the same as Floyd, yet he only conquered one division, and a weak one at that. Ward is done seeking challenges, he's not moving up. That's what he meant by not chasing guys.

To be fair, when the Super Six first kicked off, it was far from a weak division, but in fact one of the best divisions in boxing, including:

undefeated Froch, Abraham, Ward, Dirrel... Once defeated Kesslar and twice defeated Jermaine Taylor.

      That's 2-3 possible HOF'ers alone.

Then, we're not even talking about Bute who was waiting in the outskirts.

The smoke has settled and the dust has cleared and Andre Ward ended on top. If he retires today, he will be a HOF'er.

You don't get to be a HOF'er from dominating a weak division.

Yet don't act like we haven't seen you trashing every non black boxer on here for ages now!! At least have the balls to man up for once chump. Stop sending me stickers too acting like a straight b**ch.
You come to boxing forums to talk about race when you could be on a Facebook debating with scholars. But you would never do that because you're a mental light weight that goes off subject to make a point that no one here cares about. Go play on the freeway somewhere...

If BHop happens to get past Kovalev, I would like to see Ward step up to Light Heavy and challenge him . I think Ward would get the W, and secure about 3 titles and enhance his legacy at the same time. Not to mention the financial benefits that comes along with it. It would be HUGE! But I don't think BHop would want it with Ward.

Hmm. Are you implying Ward did send an offer? Can you provide a source and some details?

In fact as Ward made clear in the article, there was no 'Ward calls out Golovkin' or anything similar, there was just Ward saying, in effect, that he'd got a bit annoyed with K2 using his name, however indirectly (ie by using the term anyone at 168), to market their fighter.

If you followed the situation at the time this was quite clear, but now there's this whole 'Ward called out Golovkin' meme, which is being promulgated by certain posters.

As for Ward vs Golovkin if revelations about Ward's contract with Goosen (which indicate 'Dre was guaranteed $1.75mil per fight) are to be believed, there's very few fights that would make financial sense. Ward isn't that big a draw and so the pie ain't that big - any worthwhile opponent is gonna want more than their taxi fare home.

HBO got screwed on Ward - Rodriguez, and they ain't likely to make the same mistake again. Certainly they're unlikely to shell out for a loss making fight that could very well result in one of their building 'stars' losing his '0' whilst the other appears to be making every effort to jump ship.
