Why was Golovkin willing to move up to 168 for Chavez Jr but not for Andre Ward?

GGG isn't fighting Ward anytime soon so why waist every bodies time?

difference is he isnt willing to move up to fight one guy yet unwilling to move up to fight someone else. he just doesnt want to move up right now as he is comfortable where he is regardless of the competition.

Ggg is the opposite as he is comfortable at 160 or 168. What really matters seems to be who is in front of him and the thought of looking across the ring at andre ward is the thing that makes him uncomfortable.

Or at least thats what was insinuated in the initial post of the thread, you know the one you failed to respond properly to.

I didn't duck his response, if you read what i said prior to his response it's the exact same thing but he worded it favourably to defend Golovkin, I didn't feel the need to respond until now since you say i'm ducking it.

I can't believe the amount of people who are actually justifying the notion that it's ok to fight lesser opponents than Ward because of the money/risk. Ward isn't a PPV star but he's well known enough for a fight with Golovkin to be a big fight. If someone said the same thing for someone like Quillin you guys would go crazy.

I said it before and i'll say it again, Golovkin fans are ultimately scared for their hypetrain to lose to Ward.

Cuz Andre would want a big chunk of the money according to GGG. A fight with Jr would be a big ppv fight and no issues with money. Tbh, idc about Ward anyway. He's boring and thinks he's ppv material now. Go up and fight Kovelev if u can't get a fight at 168. Or continue to Stay irrelevant and commenting for HBO. B1tching and moaning every chance u get.

Or perhaps you think GGG should just sit on the shelf for a while instead of getting in the ring as often as possible with the best opposition available?

There is also the very real likelihood that with GGG being able to do good numbers at MSG and with constantly growing popularity, GGG - Ward could be PPV down the line - which wouldn't be the case now.

FWIW I'd like to see Golovkin fight Ward, though I'd like to see him fight someone like Froch, Bika or perhaps Kessler first
Bwahaha i was waiting for someone to use the 'legal problem' excuse. Ward has made it abundantly clear that he is able and willing to fight during his legal dispute and he fought Edwin Rodriguez while he still had the same legal problem he has now.

The main reason he hasn't fought or hasn't got a fight lined up is because nobody wants to fight him!

If he has unfinished business at 160 that's fine and i have no problem, but don't say you are willing to fight anyone from 154-168 and then when some asks about Ward claim like you're not ready for him, that's a clear duck.

who says ward even wants the fight anyway?

Yeah he calls out GGG ... yeah he calls out froch etc but when it comes to it he's like ... "I'm the A side ... It's got to be in Oakland etc etc etc what's that? We'll make 5 times as much money in London? and you got a way bigger fan base than me?... nah it's still got to be in oakland and I'm the A side etc etc"

that's not calling somebody out any more than GGG would be calling out mayweather by saying ... "hey floyd ... lets fight ... but ummm make it at 160 ... and split the money 50/50" ... that's not calling somebody out that's name dropping to try and keep yourself relevant and there is a big difference.

Worst quotations ever to try and prove a fan-of-Golovkin based point. Ward did not say it has to be in Oakland and the a-side ish is how Mayweather talks.

All that happens is that he is asked about Golovkin so he gives his take and when Golovkin and his team is asked about Ward they give messages which contradict previous bold statements which is my main problem.

And please, Froch wants NO PARTS of a Ward rematch after the beating he received in the final but i'm giving him a pass because he actually FOUGHT WARD BEFORE.

Because Ward was trying to make all the demands and get everything his way. All the while fighting twice on HBO in 3 years, whereas Golovkin fought 3 times on HBO in a year, all with higher ratings than Ward. Ward thinks he is some sort of draw that people care about, and he is flat out wrong. He isn't even that good, his best wins are a headbutt fest against Kessler (in his hometown) a good win over Froch (in his hometown) and made Dawson come down an entire division and of course it had to be in Oakland or there wouldn't be a fight. Ward has the Floyd diva complex without bringing in any Floyd type of money.

Ward will demand GGG wraps his hands with foam

Its kind of pathetic that a former number 2 P4P fighter has to have everything his own way and he can't step out of his comfort zone to prove himself!
