He wants to steal cinco de mayo weekend from Floyd with a big blockbuster fight against cotto. Floyd being the money genius he is, will give a rematch to cotto scheduled for may, leaving canelo without an opponent and making a huge payday himself. He should offer cotto the fight for November of this year.

Kirkland wants to cash himself out. He priced himself out of fighting both GGG and andrade so he might take the canelo fight biggest money hes ever made. Cotto would be more interested in canelo than mayweather because he can demand more on the negotiations table. Mayweather wont pay cotto more than 7 mil where as remember schaefer offered cotto 10 mill. He could ask for 50/50 split vs canelo or even more.

This is a hell of a run: Trout, Mayweather, Angulo, Lara, Kirkland and Cotto. Props to Canelo. He has turned me into a massive fan. Say what you want about Kirkland, that man is dangerous. There are much easier fights before a mega showdown with Cotto, and no one would blame him for taking a softer touch. War Canelo!

Yeah. I gotta admit I really wasn't sold on 'Nelo til recently, but he's doing everything right in terms of taking the best fights age given that he's both still growing into his body and improving his technique I can see a bright future for him.

I really like the sound of a Kirkland fight and would expect Canelo to convincingly outbox him, but it's certainly not a fight without significant risks - if Mandingo's allowed to get his engine up to speed he would be a handful for anyone.

Molina showed how to deal with him most effectively - though I'm not sure that's a style Canelo can (or would want to) replicate.

I can't see him fighting anyone dangerous not to put a gigantic PPV event with Canelo at risk.

The Canelo/Cotto fight is ripe right now and should get done. Neither has a dance partner anytime soon so they should get this fight on.

Kirkland has to take a fight before a Canelo match. Too much of a layoff for a man with his style.

If Canelo doesn't put him down early once Kirkland is warmed up is a beast and is hard to put down.

Kirkland destroyed angulo, something that canelo and lara didnt do. Fact is, that for almost 3 years kirkland has been back and canelo hasnt said a word till now.

Can someone tell me again how the **** Ishida stopped Kirkland in one round.. with what, THREE knockdowns? Jesus.

If the fight happens I would take Canelo. If the Cotto fight happens I will also take Canelo since Cotto gets hurt/shaken at least once in practically every fight now.

I only give kirkland 9 rounds imo only because he is durable enough to make it to the 9th with anne wolfe in his corner!! Make it happen
