It's prizefighting. It's their job. Why wouldn't they want to maximize earning while preserving their health?
Who/what do you think these guys are, circus animals to be used and abused for your amusement? Not only do you on sound naively idealistic, you sound like a mean sadist too.
Would you work in a diamond mine breaking your back, knowing your body would only hold up for 10 years, for $35/hour?
Or would you rather manage the mining company from the comfort of your office - and stay healthy doing it - for the same or more?
Of course it's the hurt business and they are paid to fight. But to fault guys or say they deserve a b*tch slap for pulling a "con job" for doing that is completely unreasonable.
And you know it.
Even if you somehow disagree, then just remember that Pacquiao's manager refuses to let his fighter - whose decisions seemingly suffer no scrutiny - take on Canelo Alvarez at more than 147 because he has to focus on "Manny's health."
But it's ok when he does it?
Besides, all you guys blaming Al Haymon are horribly misguided (or maybe just not-so-closet bigots).
He's a manager. Ask any manager - his job is to make his fighter the most amount of money for the least amount of risk. THAT IS HIS JOB DESCRIPTION.
Now, he delivers more than other managers while charging less. What is there to hate?
If anything guys should be mad at the promoter for accepting the terms, the networks for buying the fights and the other managers for not being able to build a business model that can compete.
He's doing nothing wrong. For Christ's sake, he's even trying to buy airtime to get more boxing back on prime time TV.
You guys really need to stop.
Bunch of mindless sheep. Rivals know they can't beat this man at their own game so they use pawns like hauser to spread speculative BS in order to soil his reputation. No company or executive would want to do business w/ a guy painted as a secret manipulative double crossing new breed, doe.
Are you a member of the propaganda machine? "...thank Al Haymon" seems to have become a punchline about Haymon fighters. One of the members here even has it as a meme in his avatar. I wouldn't be surprised at all if fighters are coached, obligated or even under contract to say that punchline at every opportunity, akin to saying "I'm going to Disneyland" after winning the Superbowl in order to collect that endorsement check.
I think I also read somewhere about how one of the Watsons gave a fighter a stern warning or threatening look when the fighter neglected to say the obligatory punchline. That punchline is a clever part of building up the Haymon/TMT illusion for the public and the fight community. It's apparently working, seeing the number of fighters who are signing on.
Don't get me wrong, I'm all in favor of fighters getting paid. Who isn't? And apparently Haymon's propaganda machine has been successful in getting that word out to fighters to encourage mass signups. You also can't fault fighters for falling into the materialistic illusion of being paid like Floyd.
You and a number of posters have asked why there's no complaint from any fighters under Haymon. Well, I think it's a little too early in the game, a bit premature and untimely for Haymon to pull the bait and switch. How long ago did the mass signings begin? Some con jobs take time...the "long con" as I vaguely recall one TV show (Leverage?) termed it.
I have no time or energy to compile a spreadsheet, but I'd like to see if someone can make a listing of every Haymon fighter currently signed to date, showing their earnings for each fight before and after signing, the purses for each fight before & after jumping onto the bandwagon. From that list, can you predict what percentage of fighters in the stable would say, "I can't complain, I haven't had enough (or any) fights yet doe"?
I'm all for fighters getting respect and paid accordingly. But I'll have no respect for any fighter if they just jumped onto the Haymon/TMT bandwagon for the sole materialistic purpose of making the maximum payday for the least amount of risk. That's no legacy to be honored, and they should be b1tch-slapped for cheating the fans with that con job.
Regarding your last sentence, I find it impossible to believe you wouldn't be one of the "new breed" fanboys who will be crying because the network has a problem with him and won't provide the airtime to fulfill the Haymon/TMT agenda.
'Nuff said.
This guy... Thank Al Haymon because he isn't screwing over the fighters. No you dumbass he is screwing over the fans, putting on **** like Danny Garcia vs Mild Salsa. Here is the really great part, I'm a fan not a fighter so I can give a **** what anyone makes I just want to see the best fight the best and Haymon is 100% against that, just look at Floyd he mirrors Haymons philosophy to a tee. You can keep thanking Al Haymon though, I'm sure he'll come knocking at your door wanting you dressed up like Oscar in fishnets.
I especially like how he cites forum posters from another site to build his case. You guys gotta be a little more critical of your sources. This is kinda like the article that came out from an anonymous guy claiming to shoot Pacquiao's buttock with that nandrolone.
But hey, what does credibility matter, as long as he supports the #HateHaymon movement, right?
When you say "he" are you referring to ex-pacfan, the member to whom I was directing my reply which you're quoting? If so, how do you interpret his post as trying to "build a case" & by citing what "forum posters from another site"? Here's his post again for your reference:

Oh, so Haymon and Schaeffer were trying to buy out Oscar? Hm. Makes sense now. Anyone calling this trash journalism should try reading the bias nut-huggery they publish on floyd-hype.com, then you will realize that this article is a breathe of fresh air.
Based on his post, please elaborate and be more concise & specific on what "case" you see he's building, and what "other forum poster" he is citing. Make sure to enumerate that as paragraph #1 in your reply to me.
Next, for #2: When you say "You guys" I assume you're addressing both me and ex-pacfan now. So, you're saying you want us to both be "more critical of your sources"?!?!? Do you mean you want us to be more critical of this article by Hauser which is the whole "source" and the basis for the "critical" discussions we're having right now in this thread? Do you realize how moronic that sounds? Does that idiocy originate from paranoia that the information in the janbtucker blog might provide further validation of Thomas Hauser's information?
You clowns volunteering for this forum's damage control duty are deviously funny and transparent to me. Even your alt username is trying to be so blatantly insidious and intimidating.
Look at your first three words to me. Yeah, right...you "like" what you essentially don't like. Typical double-speak. You can't even write more concisely and specifically, remaining vague and ambiguous with your use of "he." He who? Typical damage control rhetoric and ambiguous double-speak, trying to deflect and/or confuse the issue.
And then there's the usual throwing in of an unrelated & alternate subject (in your case you use Pacquiao) in hopes of either sidetracking the discussion or trying to equate in everyone's mind that the "anonymous" info about the alternate subject is equivalent to the info being discussed here about Haymon. BIGPOPPAPUMP himself validates the credibility of Hauser (post#33). But as you say, "what does credibility matter." Yeah, the typical Floydiot willful denial of facts and truth.
The final hilarity is your invented hash-tag for a "movement" that your weak a$$ paranoid mind invents because of a misperceived notion of this thread's discussion as being hateful persecution instead of just hard questions being asked in the process of searching for truth.
1. He has spoken on the record - ie. the media - several times before and he has a media spokesperson, much like many CEOs do. Nothing new under the sun.
2. This dude talking about fearing for his life... LOL. If he's really afraid that his anonymously posted second-hand information will get him in trouble, well, he has far bigger issues than the guys he's afraid of.
1. I'd LOVE for you to prove this. This whole forum will love you if you link us to your treasure trove of rebuttal proof. Please, please, please post all the URLs that will link the forum members, media and other inquiring minds to all this rebuttal evidence that you have which everyone has been dying to see. (And...no, "media spokesperson" accounts do NOT count. It'll just be more evidence & proof of hiding behind a front man, being afraid to stand under the light of truth.)
YouTube videos would be ideal. If he has spoken "several times" as you say, there should be "several" videos. I hope you can do better than what I see when I enter "Al Haymon interviews" into a Google search. The first page I got showed only two videos, and none of them show Haymon saying a single word to the camera. In fact skimming that first page of search results, one word stands out to summarize exactly why curiosity, speculation and investigative reporting is occurring. That word is "RARE."
But we shouldn't worry, right? You have the hidden treasure trove of evidence to prove it's NOT rare to see the man standing under the light.
LOL...EXPOSED...Don't you know that lying makes you lose credibility?
2. That's why we're all taking it with a grain (others with a rock, or even a boulder) of salt.
2. It's prizefighting. It's their job. Why wouldn't they want to maximize earning while preserving their health?

Now, he delivers more than other managers while charging less. What is there to hate?
7. If anything guys should be mad at the promoter for accepting the terms, the networks for buying the fights and the other managers for not being able to build a business model that can compete.
8. He's doing nothing wrong. For Christ's sake, he's even trying to buy airtime to get more boxing back on prime time TV.
9. You guys really need to stop.
I've numbered your reply (original as seen in your reply, post #279) to set an example of how I'd like to see future, more competent New Breeder rebuttals to me:
1. How cliche. Typical biased way to warn off your fellow New Breeders from reading something that'll make them squirm & cringe from seeing the light of truth.
2. Funny how you willfully ignore what I say about respecting fighters getting paid. It's also curiously telling how I just used the term "least amount of risk" but you revert to Floyd's cliche of "preserving my health" when I wasn't even referring to him. Once again, your paranoia exposes your biased defensiveness.
It's especially hilarious how you then go off tangent into projecting your vision of what you perceive me to be: thinking of fighters as "circus animals," "naively idealistic," a "mean sadist." LOL. Is that really how you perceive the true fans who only want to see the best fight the best?
But noooOOOOOOoooo...you New Breeders only respect and are happy to pay to see "crappy fights" (see your compatriot NOI's post #13), like the champion-title-belt-holding "mining company manager" facing the 77th-rank-fighter-in-a-lower-weight-division "broke back miner." LOL...you pathetic Lord-Sidious-applauding fools are a barrel of laughs, but also scary in the sense of influencing/changing the face of boxing and ruining the game for Queen Amidala and her legion of true boxing fans. (Reference comment#260 in response to NOI, for those who don't get the Star Wars reference.)
3. Again, reading comprehension FAILure is shaping your misguided response. Key phrase was "if they just jumped onto the Haymon/TMT bandwagon for the sole materialistic purpose...." If an up & coming fighter's attitude and primary motivation to sign up is, "I want to be like Garcia, facing the Salsas in the game and gettin' paid big time doe," isn't that conning the fans and cheating the sport? I know the majority of true fans don't see it as "completely unreasonable" (as you insist) and would also feel like b1tch-slapping the cowardly materialistic punk. But we don't do it literally. We do the equivalent of a b1tch slap by slamming shut our wallets, checkbooks and credit cards.
4. Why are you trying to divert the discussion by bringing Pacquiao into it? What does he have to do with anything being discussed in this thread? No one has complained about any con job from him.
But since you bring it up...of course his handlers don't want him to do it AGAIN. The "midget" already had the courage and dared to be great by going over 147 to challenge Margarito, and from the experience they learned what the negative effects are on the midget "Manny's health." Yes, it was ok and intriguingly entertaining to watch when he did it at that time, but once is enough for that lightweight midget to "preserve his health."
Why is Floyd so unwilling to similarly dare to be great and face "that yellow midget" (as Floyd calls him)? LOL...such cowardly hypocrisy.
5. I knew the inevitable RACE CARD would be played. A couple of your compatriots already played it, so I saw it coming from you too. Yeah, right...everyone here that's making you squirm under the light is, as you say in comment#249, a "player hater." LOL
Frankly, I believe questions would inevitably arise and inquiring minds would want to know regardless if the power hiding in darkness was red, white, blue, yellow, purple, green or whatever color...not just because he's black.
6. Funny how even you New Breeders can't agree on what to call Haymon's job description. In post#250 Based_God insists he's an "advisor." You confirm he's a "manager." Google shows articles by bloggers/journalists/investigative reporters are questioning how or if he's acting like a "promoter." With such conflicting ambiguity among the Haymon ranks and the boxing community, is there any wonder why everyone else is investigating & trying to shine a light on the TRUTH?
No one is hating on the man for getting fighters paid...we all agree that most fighters deserve it. (I say "most" because some don't deserve obscenely outrageous paydays for non-competitive sparring sessions against broke back miners.)
7. Seriously? You want to deflect fan anger from Haymon onto Schaefer/GBP and Showtime? Haymon used his powerful & influential leverage with his buddy Schaefer over Showtime, and we're supposed to be mad at Schaefer (yes, of course, he's in collusion with Haymon) & Showtime (no) for being leveraged and bullied into accepting Haymon's take-it-or-leave-it deal, to give the fans the fights they want to see?
8. Looking at the timeline of events, it seems like it's just now that he has to scramble to buy airtime on prime time TV...after first being ditched by HBO, then being exposed in his collusion with Richard Schaefer and losing GoldenBoy for promoting Showtime gigs. Isn't it kind of ironic how, instead of networks paying him to be able to meet fan demand of seeing good fights, he now has to pay the networks to try to get his stable paid for sparring matches?
9. Who, besides me, would you include on your enemies list to clearly define as "you guys"???
TheSurgeonMDMPH in comment #280 says, "You have posted several replies in this thread." Well, there could have been so many more posts (enough to make the b1tch cry) if I indulged in my desire to reply "WELL SAID" on every post that I felt made great points, had information or opinions that I agreed with, shines a light of truth, backs up what I've been saying, and would further prove that the legion of fans on Queen Amidala's side outnumber the New Breed sheep.
If you need help with making your list of "you guys" that I feel shouldn't be stopped from expressing the truth, my shout-outs & props go out saying "WELL SAID" to:
joesaiditstrue, BIGPOPPAPUMP, Weebler I, soul_survivor, ex-pacfan, AddiX, mercenario, lakematter75, The Tase, hectari, King-, turnedup, SUBZER0ED, Risen, Beater_of_ass, and a whole legion of others whom I'm sorry to leave out (I don't have enough time or energy to go through this whole thread).
Why stop? It's satisfyingly fun in exposing and owning the New Breeders who want to corrupt the game for true fans. As long as Lord Sidious' flock exists to celebrate & promote crap, Queen Amidala's legions will continue carrying the light of truth to extinguish the darkness.
1. I think you and the lot of posters like you are exactly what's wrong with this sport and the world. 2. You have posted several replies in this thread. And they all have been recycled BS, propaganda and catch phrases. 3. You guys are pathetic. 4. You have no credibility and your thought process lacks logic.
1. WOW!!! Big time exposing of a clueless, feeble-minded New Breeder who thinks he's bravely standing up to represent, thinking he'll get rewarded with a congratulatory pat on the back from his compatriots. How many Haymon/TMT cult members here find him an embarrassment to the cause and wish he'd just shut the freak up and sit his a$$ back down in the short yellow bus??? LOL Talk about a "pathetic."
So not only "the sport" but the "the world" as a whole is all WRONG because of people like us?...people who essentially raise questions, understand the meaning of justice, and yearn for TRUTH? We're so wrong because your ideal of watching "crap" in fulfillment of the Haymon/TMT agenda is the only thing right about "the sport"? You think "the world" is all wrong because the vast majority of the world's population should not choose to seek standing under the light of TRUTH? Leave it to an imbecile to view everything ass backwards.
I'd say that the vast majority of the world population yearn for truth and justice. Statistics would show that only a miniscule percentage that choose to live in darkness, if they're not still out in the civilian population perpetrating their crimes, they're currently in jail or prison.
2. See my prior post to your buddy Mindrapist, paragraph #9. You say this, yet you provide no intelligible rebuttal and just use words that I already used in my posts.
3. Look above at #1. You're the typical Floydiot pot trying to call the kettle black. LOL
4. Again, you just spew the words but provide no rebuttal to back up your ****. There goes your credibility. And of course a reading comprehension impaired imbecile with no original vocabulary of his own (who has to rehash my words) would FAIL to see any logic. LOL
1. Bunch of mindless sheep. 2. Rivals know they can't beat this man at their own game so they use pawns like hauser to spread speculative BS in order to soil his reputation. 3. No company or executive would want to do business w/ a guy painted as a secret manipulative double crossing new breed, doe.
Smdh
1. Mindlessness "sheep" characterizes the "new breeders" applauding Lord Sidious, as I characterized you clowns in my earlier post (#260). Come on, fool...try harder to be more original by learning to expand your vocabulary instead of reusing my words. You're making a fool of yourself. In fact, why don't you leave Mindrapist to do the damage control for you clowns...she's more literate. For each step forward she makes, you take it two or three steps backward. LOL
2. Haha...Thomas Hauser a "pawn"? Tell that to BIGPOPPAPUMP in his post #33. He already put radioraheem in check for essentially saying what you're saying. Now who lacks credibility? LOL, you're pathetic. Now sit your imbecile ass back down in the short yellow bus and quit embarrassing your fellow cult members, setting back the cause. You're FAILing miserably.
3. Ironic...how your attempt at sarcasm is the only original wording from you that I have NOT used yet to "paint" the guy. Right on, homie! See how the TRUTH, which Floydiots try so hard to willfully deny, can't help but expose itself from hiding, existing in the forced repression & subjugattion of the TRUTH in their ass-backward-thinking mentality? LMFAO, so hilarious.
