    Kovalev certainly is a beast.

However... he is untested and has yet to face real adversity.

His power looks good against the guys he fought, okay, but who were those guys? Sergey was beating up warehouse workers for most of his career. His punching power didn't look out-of-this-world when he fought Nathan Cleverly. Also, Cedric Agnew was able to do some things for seven rounds.

That power looks amazing against warehouse workers, but let's see Kovalev fight someone real.

I feel Kovalev is slow and unable to box while backing up. He's one dimensional, but he's very good at that one dimension.

This the only guy who completed a fight against Sergey.

Karen Avetisyan, a freaking junior middleweight.

      B-Hop's got this.

There's also this guy named Darnell Boone. He put Kovalev on his ass and only lost a split decision.

Boone got knocked out in the rematch. But you are correct. Boone did some things in the first fight and completed the fight.

Karen Avetisyan has never been knocked out by Sergey, no erasies. He went on with his life without getting knocked out by The Krusher (the one who got away), whereas Darnell did a redo and got stopped.

Avetisyan can revel in the fact that he never got knocked out by the Russian puncher.

There's also a guy named Grover Young who fought Kovalev at the Playboy Mansion. The bout resulted in a technical draw. Young can't say he completed a fight against Kovalev.

His power looked pretty good against Cleverly I'd say.

Yup. "warehouse workers" LOL @ that guy

Cleverly was a young undefeated lion. Cleverly is such a beast that he picked Kovalev as his VOLUNTARY DEFENSE that guy has balls of steel. Kovalev traveled to the UK for this fight. I don't classify that as beating a warehouse worker lmao.

Sillah a good amateur career (not a push over) Caparrello Undefeated slick southpaw (No push over) Campillo a tough as nails top ten fighter.

Let's not be ignorant these are all top 10-20 guys. Kovalev has been tested and he has a good resume. He's not some prospect he is a champion. Kovalev isn't some Deontay Wilder. Kovalev just isn't some big right hand and he isn't just crushing journeymen/bums.

I didn't think it should be here but my thread on Hopkins and judges was rudely deleted so...
Hopkins often seems to get screwed over by judges which is surprising for someone with such a big name and connections with Golden Boy. The Shumenov fight was a near robbery, that should've been a wide victory for Hopkins. The first Pascal fight was a majority draw but I thought was a close but clear win for Hopkins. Quite a bit of people think Hopkins beat Calzaghe and should've got the nod vs. Taylor twice but all three times went to the other guy.
I know his punch output is low but judges don't give him the benefit of the doubt. Why? Will this be a factor against the aggressive Kovalev?

He is not liked in America...and yea it could be a factor in this fight

He gets little media coverage for what he's doing,

                    Hbo commentary didn't like him

                    He gets labeled as boring

He doesn't have a big fan base

And he's not signed to al haymon
