I would agree with the first sentence.........

If he was fighting Ghost Guerrero.

And Cotto? He got near shut out, if it wasn't for a bloody nose that fight was as eventful as the Canelo fight.

Hopefully you are right about NY, the environment would be crazy!

Umm... no. Floyd won 8 rounds in that fight (you could give Cotto 5 if you were want to be nice) Floyd clearly won. But EVERY round until the last two were very, very close and competitive. If Cotto did just a little better, landed one or two more clean punches the fight could have gone either way. Roach has made Cotto that much better and Floyd has slipped enough for exactly that to happen.

Sounds like a great fight, this story you are telling, sounds way better than the one we actually saw though, where Floyd dominated him easily and won a wide UD.

Maybe you are thinking of the DLH fight, now that was a competitive fight with many rounds that could go either way. Good imagination you have there, I do admit.

The DLH fight... BWAHAHAHA. You mean Oscar throwing left, right, left, right, left, right and Floyd slipping every punch. If the Oscar fight was so tough let me just show you this:

I'll believe Floyd over some guy with a keyboard who obviously knows nothing about boxing.

Fighters, media, and promoters always say things to sell, im sure you also believed DLH when he said Canelo was going to upset Floyd.

And I would believe Floyd over anyone on the forum when it comes to certain things as well, but if you even mildly pay attention to me on the boards you would know that I do know my boxing, and I an an amateur so I know the ring as well, nice try though.

The bottom line is that opinons differ, but the reality is that Cotto came no closer than Canelo, Guerrero, or JMM did, no matter how much you refuse to accept such as reality.

Now, what does this have to do with Mayweather vs Maidana II?

Floyd UD. Maidana had the night of his life last time. He was more explosive than I've ever seen him. Nothing will be in his favor the next time.

You were the one who brought up Cotto losing every round, what does that have to do with the rematch? A lot of guys didn't win a round against Mayweather JMM didn't, canelo didn't, Guerrero didn't but Cotto did thus he did come closer. Also, Floyd does talk a lot of **** and lie and contridict all of those things, but he was always saying that Augustus was his toughest fight. He could have said it about Oscar the rematch would have been huge, he could have even said it against Canelo, or Castillo but he didn't he said it about Cotto.

Now, you are telling me he came no closer... ok fine, no one has beat Mayweather but Mayweather still said Cotto was his toughest fight. Your rebute to that is "Floyd lies, listent to the keyboard guy because he is just selling a fight... that has yet to happen 3 years after the fact lmao. Also why would I still listen to an amateur fighter when Floyd is the best of his era, an ATG and was in the ring with the guy. Watch the video again, Cotto gave Floyd his toughest fight by his OWN admission, if that isn't good enough to convince you then you are too stubborn and moronic to learn otherwise.

I actually didn't say he lost all the rounds I said he got near swept, just like many others, if that warrants a rematch then for the sake of consistency I hope you gave Maidana a wide UD, lol.

If you asked Floyd today I doubt he would say Cotto gave him his toughest fight, personally I think that's ridiculous, other than a bloody nose, the fight was not close, Cotto did what Ortiz did in a sense, alot of punches thrown that looked good but if you look closely Floyd rolls, slips, and blocks almost all of it.

Maybe you have Cotto "swing rounds" But I didn't find any that close where you could make a good argument for a rematch. I would watch a rematch obviously, but if it ever happens it's more than likely because Floyd is chasing a higher belt, not because it was that close in itself, unlike the Maidana fight or Castillo fight. Even the Oscar fight was rematch worthy and there were talks about a rematch but Floyd bailed on it.

Anyway the only reason some people are bringing Cotto up now is because some people think he has improved vastly under Roach and I don't see it, I feel it's discrediting all the work Cotto did and the fighter is was before Roach, to be honest I think people need to calm down with praising trainers because they don't always make that much of an imprint on an already established fighter, especially an elite one.

To me, Cotto needs to fight more fighters at mw and above maybe, and Floyd has fights at 147 I feel he should take, and maybe retire from since a fight with Manny is still plausible, imo.

I want to see Cotto fight GGG, and Floyd fight Maidana/Manny/Bradley/Lara.
