Good move if he goes down to 130 or 126 .
But he also has to resolve his defenses issues and stamina issues ,he got to box more and stop brawling so much .
He would do good when or if he goes with Pedro Diaz here in miami since Pedro is a master when it comes to phisical training and Gamboa gets tired easily .
Going with Pedro and sparring with rigondeaux , will help him a lot . Rigo is here now with Jorge , but he and Gamboa should sparred .
One thing I noticed too , Gamboa has always have problem facing good southpaw , he had it in Cuba and once Crawford turned south path , fight changed dramatically . So , go back to 126 , sparred with rigondeaux , and train with Pedro , this way he will fight in a weight according to his size , will learn from rigo , who is also a south path and will get his stamina issued solved . Well That's why I think . Hit and not get hit. ; can't hit what you don't see.

[QUOTE=Loque-san;14717549]Good move. He should get a real trainer while he's at it. Why not Pedro Diaz? I hope to see him fight before the year ends, there are plenty of good fights to make at 130.[/QUOTE) I may be wrong but I thought that he already worked with Diaz a few fights ago.

Not that I'm aware of. If he did, it was brief. Pedro was never officially Gamboa's coach. Before Yuri made the poor decision to use his father as head coach, Gamboa had Ismael Salas as his trainer.

Is this accurate? Crawford rehydrated 17pounds at fight night? WOW!

Yeah, I believe 152 was the graphic they showed in the pre-fight tale of the tape. I think Gamboa came in at 145.

I thought he worked with him in camp but he was not his official trainer but as I said I may be mistaken. But anyway I think Gamboa will fight the way he wants to no matter who is in the corner. I think if he stays active he will be back to where he belongs in this sport.

Yeah, maybe Pedro was there briefly, but he was never Yuri's official coach.

Gamboa has a lot of belief in himself, and he's very emotional, but I think that a top-trainer would harness his talents and pull him together. Also, a top trainer would have Yuri properly conditioned. I texted Cubanborn87 during the fourth round that I thought Gamboa was gassing. There's no way a world class fighter like Yuri should be running out of energy that early, especially since he's previously demonstrated he can be in better condition.

PS: Word is, Gamboa only trained six weeks for this fight. That might explain his lack of conditioning.
