And Froch was in negotiations to face Stevenson before the Kessler rematch came up i.e the bigger, better and more lucrative unification fight.

@ the idea of Froch being afraid of Stevenson.
If you consider the circumstances the Kessler fight was admittedly the more lucrative but was the easier of the two.

WTF is there to be desperate about? You're sitting here attempting to justify Froch not wanting to fight the unquestioned best in his division. Meanwhile, you and the rest of these ****** f.ucks love to yap about what a take-on-all-comers warrior he is.
Froch fullfilled his mandatory with Groves because he had to. If Stevenson had stayed at 168, Froch would have fought him too.

Froch never said he doesn't want to fight Ward. He says he'd love to avenge the loss before he retires but there are bigger fights out there for him right now. Ward isn't a PPV fighter and he can't even fight right now because of his legal issues.

While Son of God would beat the Cobra 10 out of 10 times if they fight, the fact that he brings nothing to the table does not make Son of God an attractive fighter.

I don't think the Cobra is scared of any fighter, remember he rematched the Viking Warrior and the Saint whne public opinion had him losing so rematches is nothing to the Cobra, at 36, it what you bring to the table.
Froch ducked Stevenson, reason why he went to 175 to fight Dawson. And the rest is history.....

Based on what? Stevenson was a complete nobody who'd done absolutely *** all at the time.

No, no he would not have. As soon as Stevenson became his mandatory, he signed to fight Yusuf Mack. Stevenson going to 175 saved him from getting stripped.....

I've also said taking a big payday like Cotto before GGG is fine. if no GGG after, especially if GGG beats geale...that will be critique time.

                      I'm fairly consistent.

Froch has some very rich options on the table besides Ward, all of them tough fights (Chavez the easiest on paper, DeGale IMO the toughest). If he quit tomorrow, he'd be able to say he fought everyone in his era really. He can't say he beat them all. Needs Ward II for a chance at that. His resume is unassailable to me and his bad ass stripes are long proven.
Agreed on all counts. Stevenson deserves the benefit of the doubt that he'll fight Kovalev after the bigger Hopkins payday....Fonfara was a legit defense and he got $$$$ for it, can't really blame him too much for taking that path.....Barring another injury or retirement (or a loss to Cotto) Sergio will be out of excuses if he doesn't fight GGG soon......And Froch has the best resume in boxing without a doubt. I mention that frequently in my posts but apparently I'm a hater of The Cobra.

For the record I wasn't including you with the people who are hypocrites and inconsistent with their stances. You're easily the best, most objective writer on Boxing Scene in my opinion. A real professional.

Even if I don't always agree with your position on an issue it's always thoughtfully written and defended.
