I wouldnt say floyd is slipping, more like making adjustments for this stage in his career, how is that slipping? Just like when mike jordan's game went from above the basket to below it. Still effective just to what he can physically sustain. Remember dude is 37 and still on top of his game! Props to him and hopkins. Good fight tho, props to Maidana for giving it his all!

The comparison between Roy/Tarver and Floyd/Maidana is really close.
Both Roy and Floyd were near the end and receiving a lot of "best ever" talk.
Both struggled with solid opponents they would have beaten much easier at their best, and both had the same scores. No joke, the Jones/Tarver 1 scores were 117-11, 116-112, and 114-114. A lot of people called robbery, too.
People assumed Roy would be fine and whoop Tarver in the rematch, and will assume the same if Floyd and Maidana rematch. Like Roy with Montell Griffin, people will assume the same for Floyd because of the Castillo fights.
I'm running with this, screw it. Maidana will beat Floyd in the rematch. If Floyd comes out and looks great in the 1st round of the rematch, I'll be completely confident.

But if he were to get Tarver'ed their first gut reaction would be astonishment, shock, and some hurt. They may not admit it, but it would be there.

Good debate on when Floyd was at his best. 2000 Floyd was pretty sick. So was 2005/2006. It's been a great ride but there's no question that the '0' will go if he continues to fight on. So who's got next?
It's been a great career, 18 years undefeated accross 5 weight classes, times running out though. 18 years, it's crazy to think how long it's been.Last edited by IronDanHamza; 05-05-2014, 10:50 AM.

It depends on the ref, if floyd gets his way, chino will not be allowed to fight on the inside, hopefully floyd does not pull a ***** move with the gloves again making him wear extra padding
18 years floyd, great career, you ducked a few guys who could have defeated you (despite morons saying he fought everyone and dominated boxing) but the issue now is that because of your age, even the softer fights you are picking will backfire
