Comments Thread For: Mayweather Warns: Rematch Would Be Totally Different!

Floyd “Money” Mayweather’s 46th victory didn’t come easy as hard hitting Marcos “Chino” Maidana put on an immense amount of pressure and made it a rough fight. Despite the physical nature of the fight, Mayweather was able to adapt and came out on top as he was awarded a majority decision victory.

The reigning pound for pound king had promised he would not move and stay in front of Maidana and was forced to deal with the relentlessness Maidana is known to bring. Many are already calling for a rematch and Mayweather assures if they do fight a second time, things will be a lot different.

Meh, he's trying to take the steam out of a rematch and fight someone else.

That's bull****. He was forced to the ropes and HE DID CLINCH everytime. Maidana is just stronger and good at not being clinched.

Marcos Maidana said HE WOULD FIGHT HIM THE SAME WAY !!!

HE'S HAPPY WITH HIS PERFORMANCE, HE JUST DIDN'T WANT SPARRING GLOVES!!!!

If he got to use the other EVERLAST MX GLOVES or REYES GLOVES, Mayweather really would've been hurting!!!!

If he's not good in a clinch, then he's not stronger.

I seen Maidana clinch more than Mayweather. That's how he smothered and used his 20 pound weight advantage.

I think there will be a rematch and I predict floyd is going to box circles around him, Floyd fought him at his game. The next fight floyd wont be standing still he will be moving more....

I'm watching now, with Showtime commentary (i had ****ty main event commentary here in Oz) and Paulie in round 6 is saying exactly what i thought and posted just an hour ago and exactly what i thought and many others said about Broner. They (Broner and Floyd) stood infront of Maidana and did not throw. They weren't "first" to the punch. Again i say Floyd would have done better in this particular fight if Roger came up with the gameplan for Maidana's style. He would have told Floyd to back him up and "be first."

Also i agree with Floyd on the proviso he hasn't actually gotten too old as a fighter in the fight just gone. Counter punchers generally do better in rematches.

I thought Floyd fought that way for da fans doe? Lol. Why wouldn't he fight that way again in a rematch? For the fans, of course lol not because Chino forced him to fight that way
