Good for Chavez. He's saying the right things and fans should get behind him. That said, I don't understand why everyone's calling Pacquiao dumb for not doing the same. Newsflash guys: Pacquiao is the only one getting paid top dollar over there. No reason for him to leave. He doesn't have the same issues those other guys have and even though some act as if he would make more elsewhere, it's debatable and not even worth it. Chavez is in a different boat and he's doing what's best for him.

BIG UP to Chavez Jr. Why do TR fighters always have to extend their contracts to get the biggest fights? Don't get this twisted either! I don't wanna see no posts saying Chavez Jr. is ducking GGG. The ball is in Arum's court. Jr. is under contract and is willing to fulfill his obligation, if it's no fight (like Mayweather vs. Pacquiao, Garcia vs. Gamboa) BLAME BOB ARUM!

From Bad Left Hook, April 18th, 2014:
"Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, one of the most bankable stars in the sport today, is reportedly speaking with mega-adviser Al Haymon about potentially linking up to do business going forward, with one report saying that Haymon has offered Chavez a multi-year deal worth $47 million.
This means a few things. For the immediate future, this puts Chavez's July fight with Gennady Golovkin up in the air. For another thing, this could be a huge blow for Top Rank and HBO in their battle with Haymon, Golden Boy, and Showtime. Chavez is one of the only real money fighters in the former stable at this point."

GGG is a great fight and little Junior needs to man up and fight and give the fans what they want seeing as how they are the ones who pay his damn salary...
Like I said in my previous post, I don't mind Arum wanting to sign fighters to long extensions because usually promoters invest a lot of money in fighters and often lose a lot of money in the first couple of fights. They usually make up their loses at the tail end of the contract.
But with Chavez Jr. Arum has never lost any money. Chavez has always been sure financial gain for Arum.
Chavez here owes Arum nothing, and has every right to look for better options.
