That's 1 year and 6 months & that's a very long time IMO and nobody, I mean nobody (Not even Martinez himself) knows how his body is going to react to a vicious Pit-bull attacking him all night..So before all you guys talk you should know you're talking about the Martinez of 3 years ago because nobody knows which Martinez is going to show up..

I agree. We donīt know how Martinez condition is gonna be, so for me itīs a 50/50 fight.

But the reality is that Cotto has no business in the middleweight division. He is in no way the biggest threat that Martinez had faced at 160lbs. And his only chance is Martinez being old and shot and with a bad knee.

I have a feeling Martinez is gonna look old in this fight. His knees are shot, that mobility won't be the same and he's gonna need it against a pressure fighter like Cotto. Whatever advantages he might have as a southpaw will be neutralized by Freddy Roach.

            Cotto by UD.

Yeah Martinez speed and mobility arenīt gonna be the same.

However, he still is bigger and stronger than Cotto. It's rare to see the smaller and weaker fighter persuing and putting presure to the stronger one. That strategy could go very badly for Cotto.

Martinez has to be really shot to lose this fight IMO.

You are going to be very disappointed in cotto. Looking forward to hear your excuse when cotto gets destroyed.
Martinez gets hit flushIin every fight as well. Cotto is not particularly easy to hit, he has pretty good defense. Martinez's defense is his movement and reflexes, thats it. I think Cotto has a good chin. Cotto has only hit the canvus 3 times in his career (twice against Pacquiao, once against Torres), against big punchers. Martinez has been down quite a bit in his career. If Cotto loses i wont have an excuse. You on the other hand have already pre played your excuse.

Is Cotto more dangerous than Williams, Pavlik, Cintron or Chavez Jr at 160 lbs?

I personally think all of them would kill Cotto at 160 lbs, easily.

Cotto has taken this fight thinking that Martinez is old, and injured and shot. The Martinez that fought Williams would literally destroy Cotto in a middleweight fight.
Not talking weight. I said Cotto is the best FIGHTER Martinez has ever faced.

But weight is key in this fight. If they were fighting at 154 lbs things would be different.

No matter if Cotto is more skilled and better boxer than Williams, Pavlik and Chavez Jr. The three of them would destroy Cotto in a middleweight fight. Cotto is not a big threat at 160 lbs.

He is a great welterweight but has no business at 160 lbs. Martinez had faced better opposition and won. It's clear than Cotto has taken this fight because he thinks, like a lot of people including me, that Martinez is shot.
