I do not give a flying f@ck about who is getting paid what. I just want to see they best fight the best. And Stevenson's yellow belly has denied us fans a great fight, that's all there is to it.
    This^^^^^.

most boxing fans are disappointed that we wont see Kovalev vs Adonis...
Dunn is not a boxing fan doe. This sad little twat was even sporting an Al Haymon tribute avi pic for months! Some boxing fan, huh?

Yes he does. You 'smart business move' turnips are a minority. Its pretty fecking obvious that boxing fans(not floyd/business move/race tarding spastics like you and the rest of team flowmo) want to see the best fights. They hardly want to see **** ones and predictable mismatches, do they?

I don't applaud it. It's disappointing. But I'm not going to run around every thread crying thinking Adonis gives a fcuk about me or any other nerd in here.

It surprises me that people are surprised by this move.

Well smart fans you should realize that all Stevenson is doing is letting Kovalev get bigger and more casual fans. Most casual fans dont know Kovalev yet, but they will by the end of this year and that is when you can sale this has a ppv fight and get 300+ buys has opposed to the south of 250,000 buys you would get if you put it on now. The whole goal in boxing is to maximize revenue and sale when the demand is at the highest. Interest in this fight still has to grow with the casual fan. It'll happen.
Afraid not. Stevenson doesn't want to fight Kovalev. HBO stated that he wanted more money to fight Fonfara, yet would not guarantee he'd fight Kovalev. He previously said he would fight Kovalev, but then back-tracked. This is after he signed with Al Haymon, whom HBO will not work with. Furthermore, he moved to Showtime. HBO and Showtime fighters rarely fight each other. Top this all off with the fact that HBO also won't work with GBP, who took its fighters to Showtime last year. It's easy to see that there's practically no way Stevenson will fight Kovalev, and that suits "superman" just fine.

I don't believe it. I think Haymon promises these fighters big money without them having to fight tougher bouts, but it remains to be seen if he can deliver. Look at it like this: Stevenson fights Fonfara, then fights the winner of Hopkins vs Shumenov. Assumptions are that Stevenson and Hopkins win their interim fights. Hopkins is 49 years old. Showtime may have paid Stevenson more than HBO offered to fight Fonfara, but will they be able to make a successful PPV event of Hopkins vs Stevenson? What if Hopkins suddenly hits the age wall and loses to Shumenov? What if Fonfara gives Stevenson all he can handle? The original plan was to have Stevenson fight Fonfara, and Kovalev fight Agnew on HBO. Assuming Stevenson and Kovalev won their respective fights, a unification showdown between them was to take place in the fall. This had the potential to be an exciting PPV event; Adonis "Superman" Stevenson vs Sergey "Krusher" Kovalev! A rematch would probably have been talked about before the first fight even took place. The potential opportunities for these two fighters looks much more lucrative with them on the same network fighting each other. How either can do better or even as well separately is a mystery.

Who has Kovalev beat to deserve to fight Stevenson?? And what is the highest rating he has done has a main event?? I'll wait for somebody to give me the answers ....
