Oscar could never finish strong anyways, he had Floyd beat in a close fight and if he kept behind his jab and stalked effectively he would have won that fight!
Other than that why go back in time with a fantasy fight!
He doesn't beat Floyd easily because Floyd is a smarter fighter than Oscar ever was. I do think Oscar & Mosley could beat Floyd straight up but its just an opinion however their bouts against Floyd do add some validity to my thoughts that both in their prime get over on Floyd.
Floyd at welter simply hasn't enough power when his competition are men the top 35 and below at welterweight. Even against men his own size in height he falls short with his punch. People Basillo would wear him down and I don't think Floyd could out condition Carmen over the course of 15 rounds!
Then theres more modern guys that could go all night with Floyd because he couldn't sway their willingness. Curry, Starling, Tito, Forrest, Sweet Pee then go back to Duran, Hearns, Leonard...............Napoles, Griffth, Gavilan, Robinson, Armstrong, Ross then theres the fringe guys that were top ten competitors for most of their careers that don't get hurt by Floyd! Floyd would have his shot against them but he could never box in the style he gets away with against these kids today! I do think Floyd can be a top 30 welter because I know he has skills and talent and that he doesn't mind fighting at times but his style today is predicated on business not pride!! His decisions on business in todays boxing works well for him but back in the day when a live gate determined your earning power along with fans who demanded that boxers fight along with box he would not be a top flight contender. That was then this is now!!!! Ray.

At 25, Oscar was fighting at welterweight and had a title. Floyd at 21 was at super featherweight. Floyd wasn't even a household name yet, so Oscar wouldn't have fought Floyd back then. Clearly Oscar had the advantage due to the experience and weight disparity. Fast forward 5 years and Floyd would've owned him.

Oscar had a chance to fight a younger Floyd while he himself was closer to his prime, he passed on the fight, for good reason. No need to cry about should of could of would of's at this point.

And which 5 rounds did DLH win again?
Delahoya,Mosley,Cotto all way past when Floyd should have fought them. Never fought Margarito,Williams,Pacquaio...
Please...at least Oscar fought a prime Mosely and Trinidad..those 2 are better then anyone Floyd fought in their prime.
Floyd fans are a joke..ride to the end with that chump, he'll always be a great fighter who never fought the best at their best ...
