Lot of people think Canelo is ducking Lara, maybe in the meantime is doing it, but I'll tell you something, Canelo is a dude who attracts masses and people, he ain't Floyd Mayweather but the kid has stardom.

3 things:

1.- Lara vs TBA (Doesn't interest people) Lara has no fanbase and even thou he's a master tactician and a hell of a boxer he doesn't sell.

2.- Lara vs Canelo (Interest a lot of hardcore boxing fans) lot of people want to see this fight to really see what is Canelo capable of, and to see where really Lara is at the 154 picture.

3.- Canelo vs TBA (Interest hardcore and casual fans) because Canelo has a name, yet he's fighting a top fighter or a bum, Canelo has a fanbase and he sells tickets, and Hardcore fans talk about him too.


Conclusion: In today's boxing business, the dude who attracts people makes the call, not the best boxer. Example (Guillerno Rigo)

Lara doesn't have appeal to the mainstream, he doesn't have a fanbase, so he's irrelevant, wether is better than Canelo or not, he ain't a top name.

2 Scenarios:

PPV Canelo vs TBA : It's gonna sell, it won't be a blockbuster but it will sell, guaranteed 100%

PPV Lara vs TBA : It won't sell a ****, Lara doesn't sell tickets and even tho he's a great fighter he will never be a top name.

So what's my point here? Canelo will eventually face Lara, but don't expect that soon, while Canelo sells tickets GBP won't risk his second golden goose against a dangerous challenger.

I think CANELO doesn't even know what he is saying. I see Angulo deciding to stop the fight not because of pain but because he was worry something was really wrong when the eye ballooned up that way. He thought something popped and it was the orbital bone and he knows that's an injury that can end your boxing CARREER. So he decided to stop fighting not to worsen the eye. Not because of pain. LARA talks a lot about him beating trout easier than CANELO. What will he say if CANELO destroys angulo in less rounds without being floored even once. Let's see if CANELO claims to be better than Lara because he beat Perro clearer than Lara. And what Lara nut huggers will say.

im with you on that, angulo stopped the fight and he shouldnt come with the glove excuse, and also no shame on stopping the fight either cuz he did way more than he was expected to do, to criticize a fighter for that is ****** cuz he could have lost his eye... there should be no excuses for this fight on any side..
now canelo saying angulo didnt quit is called promoting, he is promoting his next fight but he knows very well angulo stopped the fight...

I totally agree with u here . I don't blame Angulo for stoping , it was a great show and I believe if Angulo didn't quit the ref woulda had the doctor look at it and he might of stopped it. Also it was Virgil hunter who first claimed a thumbing. Listen to it , u here Virgil yell " he was thumbed" . I believe Angulo had just went along with it .

Fact remains, he was on his way to losing the fight before Angulo quit due to a gruesome injury.

There's no denying Angulo quit, he just had a very valid reason. And there's no denying Angulo had the game plan and the tools to beat Lara.

Those are the facts, they just need to be excepted by all nations, and creeds. Period.

And for the record I am not Mexican, nor Latin or Cuban or anything that would provide Me a bias to either boxer.

"Runners" like Lara been part of boxing for decades and will contniue to be part of boxing in the future and guess what...Boxing will be just fine.

If you decide to avoid a fighter because you don't like the way he fights how can you call yourself a great boxer? A great boxer can adjust and adapt to any style. It's up to Canelo to come up with a successful game plan. If he's not able to that you have to take your hat off to Lara. Whether you like him or not Lara is an incredible boxer.
