A case can still be made for a 7-5 Mayweather and i wouldn't have a problem with it. Any scorecards lower than that should be taken with a grain of salt. I still don't know how anyone with a working brain can score this fight a draw or a win for Maidana.

    First six rounds
    Mayweather: 2, 3, 6
    Maidana: 1, 4, 5

    Last six rounds
    Mayweather: 7, 9, 10, 11, 12
    Maidana: 8

There were a lot of close rounds, but in a lot of those rounds, Maidana did nothing more than roughed up Floyd against the ropes and only landed a few body shots in spurts.
Had the same card except I gave Floyd the 4th and Maidana the 3rd.

    Both were quite close rounds.

The 3rd could easily have gone to Floyd on my card and that would have made my card 9-3.

The official scorecards weren't bad at all for the fight.

Ha, nah. I didn't have that card but I could see that card because the 3rd was close that I gave to Maidana.

I could see 7-5 aswell or even a draw but I do think that's pushing it. Not too many dominant rounds in the fight.

Floyds always going to get more credit then his opponent because he's always going to land cleaner.... Maidana could literally do all the work for 2:30 of the rd and if Mayweather lands 3-4 clean rights everyone gives him the rd... Sorry, but that is non sense and not how boxing works.

Your post is nonsense, you just made some crap up. What scorecard did you have for the fight? I need a good laugh.

Alot of messy work from Maidana is being discounted.. as well as his use of the jab to the body chest and head in the last 6 rounds. The rope work is only one part of the equation.

Again, notwithstanding this miasma about scoring more frequent messy work vs less frequent cleaner work, I still am flabbergasted that normally quality posters give Floyd a 1:1 punch consideration to Maidana.

Floyd can take a punch. He knows how to make shots look less than they are. Maidana can take a punch as well, but he is not thinking about how he will be perceived if he jumps backward from a shot or lets it snap his head. None of this changes the fact Floyd was getting tagged with bombs to the body and head throughout the fight. Floyd did not throw ONE bomb. Not one. It was all eye catching work. Flash with little substance.

Floyd manged to win the fight, in many eyes, because of his punch resistance and the illusion he manages to weave for his audience in a spectator sport like boxing.

But make no mistake... he was hit with the harder shots.. he was roughed up and outfought. The fact he was able to eke by Maidana in a format of Floyd's own making doesnt send someone like me to the moon like it does some of yall.

Some people gave Maidana round 12. Some people thought he swept the first five rounds. There are a lot of sketchy scorecards around here and there were a lot of close rounds in the fight, but the most common scorecard is 7-5 Mayweather and that's the way it needs to be.
I don't see how being troubled by a cut takes away from the fact that Mayweather bested him in every single department that round.

I just realized I am the most objective flo-moe on NSB: I have been championing my other man Maidana so hard for the past few months, some people around here even forgot I am a certified floydiot who bobs his knob more than ms jackson.

'wraps keeps it objective 24/7 365.

You're a bigger fan of Maidana than you are Mayweather though, right?

                    So not really that objective

No, as evidenced by my list, I have no order, but if I was forced to make an order Floyd would be first because I have studied him the most as an amateur fighter myself of all current active fighters, only DLH and Benton have I studied more personally on a detailed basis.

When two of my favorite fighters meet, I am forced to make a choice, but no necessarily by emotion. For this fight I supported Maidana, in Bradley/Marquez I ended up rooting for Bradley because I felt he needed the win more, and before that, I haven't been in this predicament since maybe DLH fought sweet pea, where I like both fighters equally where it's so hard to root for one over the other.

With this fight however, I knew all along the type of fight it would be and that weighed in on why I was rooting for Maidana, I know the sport, I am confident in my knowledge and experience and I have no problem having the unpopular opinion because im often right regardless or at the very least have sound reasoning behind my decisions, I came with good points from day one and the fight went how I said it would all along, we can dig up posts where I break this fight down and say that Floyd will have possibly more trouble than in any other fight since Castillo and I was dead on. This was actually the first fight I bet against Floyd and depending on who he fights for his remaining fights it could be the last one. If there is a rematch, you can bet I am in the maidana camp all the way, but in the bigger picture of the sport, Floyd is #1 p4p, the best boxer in the sport, and a beauty to watch, I am thankful for everything I have learned form him, from all he does great, and from what he lacks.

Everyone listed in my sig I am passionate about in their own way.
