I think a fight with Braehmer and Chilemba would help Kovalev prepare for Stevenson. Braehmer is a southpaw with decent power, and Chilemba is an awkward counter-puncher.

Kovalev himself hasn't had much decent competition until recently, but given Agnew's modest KO record and modest opponents, I'm not exactly thinking that Kovalev will lose this.

The jury seems to be out on if he's been avoided, just hasn't had better fights work out, or if he's been protected for a payday. Few people have seen much of Agnew.
