    There lies the problem.

Using stats on paper means nothing.

If you're going to give this fight a pass then fair enough. You obviously don't have very high standards but that's fine.

I for sure am not going to support this fight.

Big fan of Kovalev but I'm not biased.

But what I also understand is that if they aren't going to get into it right now or very soon then they need to keep fighting, and winning, in order to keep their potential match hot. They are in a sort of 'damned if you do, damned if you don't' situation...They need to fight at some point but it isn't going to be soon, so therefore fights need to be had in the meantime that don't run the risk of ruining a huge fight in the not so distant future. It is either carry on carrying on or sit and wait for each other.

What I am trying to say is, this isn't too bad a fight and for those complaining about it what else did you expect given the bigger picture? I am down for this fight taking place coz I can see the bigger play that is supposed to unfold after it, and that should be ok don't you think?
I understand but atleast fight decent opponents. Atleast.

His last fight was an easy fight aswell.

What should I expect both of these guys to fight worthless fights until they fight each other? I'm not ok with that.

But Adonis is playing hard to get.

Cedric is okay for now. If they can't get Stevenson next, go for Pascal.

Too bad Dawson and Cloud won't get a win under their belt, people will whine and moan if Kovalev fights them coming of losses.
Well yeah, I know that. That doesn't mean it's ok to fight who he's fighting.

He's not OK for now. Unless you have very low standards on what is "OK".

Dawson or Cloud coming off loss's (To other top LHW's or fighters) are far and beyond better opponents than Agnew. Anyone in the Top 10 would be.

Agnew is not a bad opponent while Sergey is waiting for Stevenson.
Won the Gold Medal at the Sweden Under 19's cup How amazing.

Pretty sad you have to use these ridiculous things to justify this fight.

          Speaks for itself.

Man, I'm from Chicago and even I don't know who Cedric Agnew is. I think I heard his name a few times in the am's but that's about it.

I am from Chicago too. I saw him on some local undercards years ago, maybe 2007 or 2008.

He never really impressed me enough to say that guy is going places.

Chicago fighters are having lots of trouble lately. Don George was unable to fight, Molina couldn't fight. Fonfara is going to have Stevenson and I don't think that's gonna end well either.

Oh well, guess we always have Fres Oquendo.

Yeah it's been a rough month for us. I'm a fan of George, super cool guy, just not sure how much he has left.

I've worked out with Molina's trainer on numerous times and that hurt to see Carlos got caught up in that bull****.

I've never been super impressed with Fonfara but I don't think he's that far under Stevenson. Stevenson is like 37 or something so that could always be a factor.

                    Cedric Agnew Camp Notes

On March 17, top rated light heavyweight Cedric “L.O.W?Agnew (26-0, 13 KOs) completed his final preparations at the Main Boxing Gym in downtown Houston before departing to the East Coast to attend media engagements for his March 29th title fight in Atlantic City against WBO light heavyweight champion Sergey “Krusher?Kovalev (23-0-1, 21 KOs) that will be televised on HBO.

“We’ve had our best camp. I’m ready and now it’s time to head to the East Coast for some press conferences before I show the world who I am and what I can do,?said Agnew.

Despite being an accomplished amateur and undefeated as a pro, Agnew is relatively unknown and has been depicted by many outside of his hometown of Chicago and his adopted hometown of Houston as merely a stepping stone on the path to a Kovalev-Stevenson mega fight.

“A lot of people aren’t giving Cedric much of a chance and are talking about other fights for Kovalev, but this kid is a gym rat who is going to shock the boxing world on March 29th,?said Bobby Benton, Agnew’s trainer.
Difficult to say what kinda challenge Agnew presents to Kovalev. He is unbeaten, which by definition means he can't be overlooked.the minimal footage available suggests a reasonably skilled fighter but I suspect not one who is ready for Kovalev.

                      Kovalev vs Stevenson
Kovalev's side did everything they needed to to get this fight done. It is Adonis who is being difficult.
I see people commenting on how this is a weak fight for Kovalev (Agnew) and that he shouldnt even be taking this fight. But look at Adonis's next opponent. Fonfara?
How is Agnew much worse than Fonfara?
