Disappointing news, was really looking forward to Cleverly-Makabu. Probably a blessing in disguise though for Cleverly as it would have been a very tough introduction to the cruiserweight division.

Nah man its not that im not the one to say "ohhh exposed" after one loss like ppl did with Mares. Cleverly is a good lad and wants to fight the best but his run as Champion was plain sad. Kovalev is a beast so dont count that but even besides him he never fought against fringe contenders like Edison Miranda let alone someone like Gabriel Campillio

Never seen this Makabu guy but I remember reading more than a few posts saying Cleverly would get smacked around by this dude. It seems to me that Cleverly is just done now. That loss will haunt him forever.

Imo.... To me Makabu is a plodder. Footwork isn't that great and so is his defense. He puts his gloves up and walks forward, waiting for his shot. Also his stamina got called into question with the kucher fight. When he hits though, he hits hard. Cleverly a best hot would've been movement and work rate

At least Crawford will only box his ears off and leave his jaw unbroken.

Good to see I was spot on about all the rest of the Brit jokes though.

I don't even know why I bothered to respond. Two posts from me about Ricky Burns is one more post than I usually allow myself to make in regard to such a bull**** fake champ.
You are clearly one of those guys who prefers to ignore facts in favour of prejudice.

Bob Arum of Top Rank promotes both Beltran and Crawford and he refused to enter into any negotiation with Hearn involving Crawford stepping aside so that Beltran could fight Burns again.
And this "bull**** fake champ" fought ten rounds of a championship contest with a clean break along the entire left hand side of his jaw. I saw a photo of the Xray.
Even a hairline fracture of the jaw hurts enough to persuade most guys to quit after a couple of rounds.
You cannot question the courage of a fighter who is prepared to but himself through an ordeal like that to hang on to his belt.

And you sit behind your keyboard and call him a weasel? F**k you.
