Floyd was moving forward looking to counter off Mosley who was only throwing two punches in combinations to the body in the first round. Shane added another wrinkle when he threw that overhand right. He then catches Floyd again when he tries to counter his left hook but Mosley was quicker with his right hook behind the head. Look at the third round Mayweather counters with a five punch combination which is so blindingly fast you have to watch it over, he snaps Mosley head back with a straight right.

That's why I said he used the jab to preoccupy him.

The punch literally shouldn't have landed, if Floyd wasn't literally standing in front of him, thinking too long.

Agree with the Castillo myth, but Judah never actually hurt Mayweather either. Maybe stunned him once with a straight left and caught him off-balance at another time (the uncredited KD), but he was never in trouble as he was briefly with Corley and Mosley.

mayweather started to get out of the way of his right & was coming back with crisp quick counters (it discouraged mosley from pretty much fighting) it's really that simple............

mosley A fight ago had just knocked Margaritos head off........
a fight that happened a year before

mosley was over trained, i mean he gets tired in the round he's trying to finish floyd off(2nd rnd), the guy was not in good shape in there

people forget he was still rusty. At that time he wasnt a consistent fighter. He was still knocking off of rust. Thats why you saw him get hit some in this fight, JMM fight, etc because it just takes him a couple of rounds to get fully going. Now he's fighting full time, its going to be near impossible to catch him with something like that. Even then it was just like 2 rounds and he never got hit again after those first 2 rounds

                This x 1,000,000.

As caveman as Maidana was vs. Broner, that's the only chance anyone has against Floyd as well. But the reason you won't see anyone try it is because they know what happened to Mosley (couldn't finish, punched himself out) will happen to them, too. It's going to take a Tarver-esque punch (RJJ II) to end Floyd's unbeaten streak, while Maidana is strong, he can't do it, IMO. You need one-punch concussive power, which Mosley had. I thought Matthysee might be the guy, but watching Garcia outbox him ended that theory. Pacquiao, well, ha, we will never know. Maybe Garcia himself landing a punch on Floyd's neck (like his shot vs. Khan) is about the only shot any legitimate shot a realistic opponent for Floyd can land to achieve this.

well against cotto the first 5 were fairly close(gave cotto the 3rd i think), cotto did most of his damage in the 6th rd and a couple after that till he tired

so it took about 9 rd's to figure cotto out

castillo also more or less sweeped every rounds after the 5th according to people

                    so castillo figured him out?

i think floyd has been fortunate to fight so many past it fighters who can no longer do what they once could or inexperienced fighters or just outright guys that aren't that good

marquez also arguably won one of the late rounds, i think the 8-9th, huge physical discrepancy he had to overcome in that fight, he could get to floyd with set-ups, problem was floyd was too long and too fast and could get to him whenever he decided to let his hands go

Jab to the body followed by a straight right. Gotta set it up though. I first noticed Oscar land that combo in the waning seconds of round 11 against Floyd. It definitely got Floyd's attention. Doesn't surprise me that ****m Richardson caught that as well.
