Shane gassed. Jim Watt noted at the start of the third round that Mosley had begun to breathe with his mouth open at the end of the second round, he had nothing left. Lead commentator Adam Smith was saying how he looked tired at the start of the third and he was grabbing hold. I think the lay-off was too long for an older fighter.

I think inactivity had a part to play in it, Mayweather was off competitive boxing for 18 months, if you watch the JMM fight again then you would realise that he was caught TWICE with the same right hand that Mosley landed on his temple. JMM wasn't able to make it count because he was basically a lightweight who was fighting at welterweight at the time, and his power hasn't really move up or they didn't work on his power enough to hurt Mayweather. Mosley hurt him because he was a proper welterweight with great power at that weight, he has been able to KO Margarito who is known for his chin and Mayorga who is quite tough as well. So going up against Mosley with only one fight in 2 years played a part as his reaction and anticipation weren't as sharp as they use to be due to that inactivity.

That's called been punched in that face lol and knowing throwing that hand leaves yourself open to another punch in the face.

like i said before, you need to start the assault early with floyd.

you have until round 4 to do damage. after that, he will adapt and figure your sht out and its game over from there.

I wouldn't call myself an expert, but I think it is because of Shane's earlier work.

If you watch the first round there are a few times Shane jabs to the body with nothing behind it. So early in the second round he feints a jab to the body and this time there is a solid right behind it, and it lands at a time Floyd is flat footed...Great shot

People are forgetting that Mosely is about as fast as Mayweather. Judah might be a tad bit faster than him. Not too many boxers with the kind of speed of those two.

Maidana improved his speed but doesn't maintain it for a full round let alone a full fight.

Mayweather as he always do was able to regroup, adjust, and cruised the rest of the fight. Mosely might have had trouble pulling the trigger but he was also dealing with the speed of Mayweather himself so I don't know if he could have maintained the momentum from that round.

^^^^He trapped him with the low jab, and followed with a fast right upstairs. The fact that Mayweather would use his left to push the jab down and usually leaves his left really low gave Shane that opportunity. Note well, after that, Mayweather started using the high guard.

                      no......

mayweather started to get out of the way of his right & was coming back with crisp quick counters (it discouraged mosley from pretty much fighting) it's really that simple............

mosley A fight ago had just knocked Margaritos head off........
