Who is Manny to dictate what Floyd's purse should be or what Floyd should do with his money? If Manny is serious he can say he, Manny, will fight for free or donate his money to charity - it is his choice - but he cannot tell Floyd what to do with his. What nonsense. Fans will still be happy if Manny fights for free or donates his money to charity while Floyd gets paid - why insist that Floyd accept his terms? That, right there, tells you he is not serious. Floyd already donates to charity as much as anyone else. Why should Floyd fight Manny for $0 when Manny would not fight him for $40m. I like Manny but if he actually said the things being attributed to him then he is very naive or he is just posing. Floyd will never allow Manny to dictate terms to him. He doesn't need Manny that much.

Who knows if they're "facts" set in stone? Some people soften their stubborn anger and have a change of heart when it comes to charities and humanitarian aid. Especially if it would be something historic & mind-bogglingly unprecedented like this. Just think how such selfless action "pays forward" to more athletes contributing their proceeds from one contest. It could grow exponentially/geometrically to a worldwide phenomenon. And these two boxers would be honored as the pioneers.

Bob Arum is on record saying negotiations can happen if everyone leaves their ego at the door. The first and only sign of a response I've seen since he said that was Oscar DeLaHoya's recent tweet. The ball can be kept rolling in that direction if greed and ego don't **** things up.

Its funny the reactions of Floyd's defenders here. You guys talk about Floyd being a business guy first. If Floyd donated his share of a fight all to charity, do you even realize the benefits of this?
For one, if the donations stretch out over a period of time it can be used as a tax relief. The publicity or even the the fact that money like that can change, help, and touch so many people for the greater good. Floyd would not have to be the bad guy anymore, his fans and PPV would be mainstream b/c Floyd is such a humanitarian. He will get all the adoration he has been craving.

I can't believe that I wasted my time reading that babble. Im going to laugh my ass off when Mayweather refers to Pacquiao saying these exact words when he makes him a ridiculous offer and Pacquiao refuses it. Then everybody will act like he was never on record saying hell fight for free.
