This should serve a lesson for fans. Start the hype when the hype job beats not only a legit opponent but a proven one. Thurman has to beat one, for example.

Funny when it was the rest of us saying this..we were just haters. Since Mayweather's camp is like the king james bible of boxing to some there you have it...straight from Rogers mouth. I feel bad for Adrien not because he lost or because he got beat the hell up..I feel bad for him because all these fair weather fans abandoned him in the blink of an eye.

AB bit off more than he could chew- end of. He thought he could jump through weight divisions and make anybody look ordinary. He let the 'New Mayweather' thing go to his head, when he hadn't been in the game long enough, or tested himself to know what he was capable of. Paulie should have given him an indication he wasn't ready to take on the Welterweight division, but the guy was so high on his own ego he didn't heed the warning. He didn't need to make the move so early. Plenty of good fighters at 140 to test himself with first.
Truth be told, he didn't have enough respect for other fighters, and thought he could just walk through Maidana. As uncle Roger would say "He don't know **** 'bout boxing"

Personally, I was surprised at what happen, but far from shocked. I fully expected AB to taste something he didn't like too much at least once in that fight. And I watched this one with my pops and honest to God. When he got dropped in the second, I busted out laughing even though I was rooting for him. I thought it was an excellent gut check moment and fully expected him to recover and go on and win the fight. Didn't realize until a couple rounds later that he wasn't right and had bitten off a lil more than he could chew.

Well, sort of this. I mean... he decided to take on dangerous opponents. Who the **** did Mayweather fight comparable to Maidana at 24 years of age? At 24, Floyd was owning the super featherweight division. Broner was overly audacious jumping up to welter so fast.
People forget, before Floyd started to look for real challenges i.e. the De La Hoya fight, he was almost 30.
