Broner earlier in his career took a bigger RISK fighting Maidana than Floyd did fighting those lightweights. Floyd's first big risk moving up in weight was against Oscar.

I noticed the "1/2 inch" height difference too in the stats. But when I saw Broner and Maidana in the ring, the size difference was surprisingly in favor of Maidana (height and weight). Sorry but in the ring, Maidana did not outweigh Broner by 3 lbs. Broner was closer to 150 and Maidana was 159-160, maybe bigger.
    Yeah it was 5lbs actually
    Broner was 156, Maidana 161
Broner was 150lbs vs Gavin Rees when fighting at lightweight
Mayweather never was anywhere near that big when fighting at lightweight, Comparing Maidana who was 5lbs bigger to Mayorga and Margarito who would have been 15-20lbs bigger is not a fair comparison. Corrales and Castillo were 10lbs bigger in comparison is fair(they were both dangerous fighters).
Mayweather was a small lightweight who most of the time fought boxers bigger than himself, Broner was a big lightweight who most of the time fought boxers most of time smaller than himself.

Broner's career would have been over right at Jose Louis Castillo, there would be no rematch needed. Yet alone moving up in weight and beating Judah, Baldomir, Delahoya, Hatton, JMM, Mosley, Cotto or Alvarez, all of which were different size, shape and style. He probably would've lost to all of them.
This. Please get a clue people and stop reaching. Floyd is undefeated and blanking other fighters in the ring for a reason. You got a pass before the Broner Maidana fight to draw comparisons, but now after the fight, to still draw comparisons is to put your boxing ignorance on full display.
