4. If Floyd did dominate Lara, then it would be a more boring fight than the Khan fight because of Lara's style.
No.4 should not be enough to overrule the first 3. Lara is a legitimate opponent for Floyd, and he poses a legitimate threat. Yes, it's possible that the fight could be pretty dull if Floyd proves much too much for Lara, but it's still better than seeing Floyd toy with someone like Khan who has no hope at all on any level.
Lara would prove a stiffer test of Floyd's skills, and outclassing a guy like Lara is a far, far more impressive addition to Floyd's legacy than beating a guy who's not rated that highly by anyone. On the other hand, if Lara's in the fight then the competitiveness alone will make it exciting.
Lara's not some beast, he's just a very skilled fighter who is worthy of sharing the ring with the best competition. Khan, with all due respect, is not.
Lara is OK, but he's not VERY skilled. I do agree he's a better opponent than Amir Khan. But beating Lara wouldn't be significantly better than Amir Khan. Lara isn't a proven elite fighter, and neither is Khan.
Lara nor Khan does nothing for his legacy. The only fight that would 'enhance' his legacy is a fight with Pacquaio. Lara could be a legacy enhancing opponent if he beats Canelo.

But because of how precise Lara is and how much pop he packs... it makes the fight interesting. If he catches Floyd defending too much, he could pick a hole in his defenses with that accuracy. To beat Lara... Floyd would have to press the attack and walk him down and make Lara gunshy...
Floyd walking down the bigger more powerful man....plus a southpaw... Big stylistic problem for Floyd. He could probably do it, but I doubt he would ever commit to such a fight.

Sure I would love to pick Floyd's next fight. However, I am not going to complain one bit about who he fights next. Khan is fine. He could fight Humberto Soto and I wouldn't complain. After Canelo, he deserves to pick anyone. Are there more exciting options than Khan. Sure. Lara, Thurman, Golovkin, Pacquiao, Garcia, Bradley.... and so on. I think his next choice might insight a riot if he isn't going for the big one!
