Comments Thread For: Maidana's Trainer: No Doubt Marcos Will Land on Broner

Veteran trainer Robert Garcia has no doubts about Marcos Maidana's ability to land big punches on WBA welterweight champion Adrien Broner (27-0, 22KOs) on December 14th, when they top a Showtime televised quadrupleheader from the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.

After watching how fighters like Gavin Rees and Paulie Malignaggi were able to land punches on Broner, Garcia feels confident that Maidana (34-3, 31KOs) will be able to do the same - and cause more a lot damage when he lands.

Broner can be hit. He's hard to hit clean because he's so small and compact. But when he does his shoulder roll his head is there to be hit. It's just hard to get your punches off because you leave yourself vulnerable to his counter shots as well.

this going to be a great fight. broner does'nt have the power to hurt maidana, but he will be tagging him all fight long.maidana leaves himself wide open. you can't do that against broner. he can counter or beat you to the punch.this is going to be a great one.

Will be a good fight but unfortunately Boner by late body shot stopping Maidana.

yeah he can and will land but Broner does roll punches well even the ones that land so just how effective will Maidana punches be while one the other side...Maidana has 0 defense or had movement, you can get off Combos against Maidana and land clean

I think Broner Power will show this fight because he will be able to plant his feet and get off with his Power more against Maidana style compared to Paulie who is very slick

Don't be shocked if Broner shows off his boxing skills and show that he is not "FLAT FOOTED" as some say he is, he could try and just outbox Maidana from the outside and then start walking him down and working inside later in the fight

Maidana maybe will land some, but Broner will land first cause his faster

Seems like everybody has forgot about how bad Maidana looked against popshot Alexander

I really want Maidana win, hes changed since the Alexander schooling

This is a pretty dam# good assessment. I'd still be willing to bet points on Maidana. If anybody is interested.

Every single time I see someone act like Broner's hard to hit I be like

This guy is not Floyd. he gets hit often. The biggest thing about AB is that he was masquerading as a jr lightweight while actually being a welterweight. The guy is huge so he could afford to stand in front of smaller dudes and take their power.

If AB stands in front of Maidana like he did with virtually all his other fighters, he's gonna get hurt. He will have to show he has some wheels. He's a fighter at heart though, I give him that. When he feels Maidana's power, he'll want to return fire. I expect an educated brawl on the highest level between a brawler, (Maidana) and a skilled brawler (Broner).
