So how did Castillo manage, with MUCH less size/power, even more one dimensional, more rudimentary footwork?
golovkin was fighting stevens (a guy who got degraded by Brinkley) & even when stevens kept it in the center of the ring golovkin would look completely lost at times........many of the shots that were thrown between stevens & golovkin were parring shots trying to get the other man to make the wrong move & bite.

so now we are comparing castillo to golovkin size wise? of course he had less power and size vs golovkin thats stating the obvious. but castillo was a balls to the walls kinda guy. he didn't care where his power shots landed. golovkin does..........thats the difference. golovkin will rarely throw power shots unless he's planted and he knows their gonna land.

like i said.....you would have to explain to me how golovkins style beats mayweather.

You're way overstating his issues with Stevens, who kept it in the center for 5 seconds at a time. GGG did much much better than Dirrell, who many think beat Froch. Btw, who would you take h2h, Floyd vs Dirrell?

GGG can press and use his size advantage at 160 but not against Mayweather at 154, GGG is a thinker and doesn't just throw and waste his punches. The problem is he would have a guy in Mayweather who can either fight him on the front foot or box/move around him depending at what weight the fight happens at. Am not even going to disrespect a prime Castillo by responding.

Why? You've heard guys like RJJ and Julian Jackson say GGG is JCC v2. Castillo was very good, but JCC's sparring partner and not a HOF. And remember we're talking h2h here. , not resumes.

We don't know how he'd perform at 154, you're free to assume whatever. Mayweather often ends up on the ropes, especially against guys that can pressure a bit. Bad thing here.

How about you, what's your template for Floyd beating GGG? The Canelo fight I assume? Or Ortiz?

If he's a "coward" for refusing to fight a potentially great champion well above his natural weight, than so is Pacquiao and everyone else too small for GGG. He cuts off the ring too well, and is too accurate and powerful for someone Floyd's size. Just jabbing the arms and body of Floyd and firing right hands would be enough to neutralize him, and these are things Golovkin excels at.
Golovkin comes in much lighter on fight night than canelo so straight away your wrong. As for you referring to a future HOF as a coward you get no respect, floyds that good a boxer only a fully blown middleweight can be considered as a legit opponent mayweather is a welterweight who would be giving a middleweight his biggest payday why dont canelo and golovkin fight why doesnt golovkin go after andre ward carl froch kessler abraham stieglitz sakio bika chavez jr,there all 8lbs above his middleweight division now at middle golovkin is WBA champ at WBC its Martinez at IBF Darren Barker at WBO Peter Quillin why doesnt golovkin go unify these titles then go up to super middle? it looks bad calling out a welterweight when your a middleweight world champion thats just my opinion.

He said he'd drop down to 154, where Floyd is rated #1 and has a bunch of belts. How's that unfair? He's not even asking Floyd to move up, unlike Ward and Hopkins who wanted him at 160.

Mayweather is too smart, and adapts to fast and would take all those advantages away not getting hit being slick, and elusive. Golovkiin is there to be hit with overhand rights, jabs, pull counters and straight rights.

Outside of a punchers chance. He has no chance.
half of floyd's extreme fanbase says GGG stands no chance, the other half says GGG is too big for floyd

hahaha, got all your bases covered i see

The fighters to beat Floyd in or around his weightclass are either retired or well past their sell by date, and its a bit of a lean time talentwise. Floyd wants to fight more regularly now this is the case, isnt that obvious? It'll be size that defeats Floyd now, if he chooses to go after a MW title. If him and GGG were the same size I would still favour Floyd. Its a shame for boxing fans that Floyd has always chosen the path of least resistance, given his talents, but it is what it is.

The fight ain't ever gonna happen, so no, it sure ain't Golovkin who is gonna beat Mayweather.

TBH I think he's gonna retire after the SHO contract's up and he ain't gonna take a fight he might lose before then.
